Nate

The alcohol was hitting harder than normal, until i remembered i haven't actually had shots in a year so my tolerance is low.

I pulled her into me, i folded into my temptations for a small moment.

"Sorry, i saw him walk by i needed you closer so he wouldn't bug you" i said lowly, i lied.

She nodded and i realized i still had her wrist and i let go of it slowly. Her hand rest on my lower thigh and it shouldn't turn me on, but it does. I needed her to pull away before i can't.

"Let's finish our drinks then dance yeah?" she smiled getting back to her chair and i nodded. Disappointment rushed through me, i had her right there, but i can't do anything. I can't string her along because Emma will never allow this to be real. I have to focus on my career, but she really does a number on me.

I wonder if i unnerved her as much as she unnerved me. I can't quite read her, when we kiss she seems like she wants me, when we have our long silent stars, but her words say friends this and friends that. I don't even know, and i probably should just take it for what it is.

We chug our drinks and i know i shouldn't have drank mine, but it was already in my system, not much more i could do.

"Ready to go partner?" she laughed hopping off the stood she was still too small to reach the ground on. She held out her hand and i smiled and nodded grabbing her hand.

We got to a spot where we had space to dance and i grabbed her hand spinning her around as we danced. We danced until the next song came on which was a slow song. People all around us started slow dancing.

"Wanna sit this one out?" i asked her.

"No way, dance partners through and through, stick it out" she laughed and wrapped her arms around my neck which she could surprisingly could reach dude to her platforms.

I rested my hands on her waist rubbing her side softly as we slow danced. We kept eye contact throughout the dance.

"Alcohol settling in for you yet?" i asked her with a laugh because i could tell it was.

"Maybe just a smig" she replied with a laugh. She let one of her hands wander down to my open chest and rubbed it gently. I was just hoping she couldn't feel my heart pounding out of my chest from this one simple thing she was doing.

I tried to take unnoticeable deep breaths to calm it which seemed to be working, either that or she was just choosing not to say anything about it.

The slow dance slowly faded back into the upbeat music from before but i stayed with my hands on her waist. She dropped both of her hands from my neck to my chest and ran her hands slowly down my chest before giving me a hug. I hugged her back a laughed a little.

"What's this for?" i asked as her arms were wrapped around me.

"For you not letting me be alone during this tour, i appreciate it and your friendship" she said into my chest.

'Friendship' stung, but i had to get past it.

"Of course Belmore, i couldn't let you be alone. I know what that's like, it's not fun" i replied in a lower voice so only she could hear me. She let go and grabbed my hand guiding me to a secluded booth.

She sat down and dragged me to sit down too.

"Tired of dancing?" i asked with a laugh.

"Just a bit, my feet are killing me i need a minute" she replied resting her elbow on the table and her head on her hand.

"What did you mean, you've felt alone before?" she asked "you don't have to tell me, i just wanna break down the next Nate wall if you'll allow that" she smiled a little.

"I'll tell you, not here though. Do you want to stay a bit longer or are you ready to go?" i asked.

"Ready to go, we can talk and finish our documentary." she pointed out and i nodded.
