Author’s POV –

Disha paces nervously, her mind fraught with worry. Not just because Niharika tried to run away but because she knows someone wants Niharika dead.

As she is talking to Niharika, her phone rings. It’s Shaurya, wanting to meet her urgently at his office.

Flashback–

Disha answers Shaurya’s call in the living room. Without any greetings or waiting for her response, Shaurya commands, “Meet me in my office in 20 minutes.”

Taken aback by his tone, Disha hesitates. 

“Tum jawab kyun nahi de rhe ho?” He inquires when she still does not say anything. (Why aren’t you answering?)

“Meri marzi.” Disha retorts, nervously chewing her nails. (My wish!)

“Naraaz ho?” Shaurya probes, sensing tension in her voice. (Are you mad at me?)

That makes her smile. “Mere aur tumhara aisa koi relationship hi nahi jo mujhe tumse naraaz hona chahiya.” Disha responds, hoping Shaurya will address her lovingly. 

“Haan yeh bhi sahi hain,” which he doesn’t! “Waise kaha ho abhi?” Shaurya inquires casually, only adding fuel to the fire. 

“Marne jaa rahi hun,” she counters with irritation. (I am going to die!)

“Meri permission ke bina tum kaise mar sakti ho?” He retaliates immediately, making Disha even angrier. “Now come here.” (You can’t die without my permission.)

“Hey, Bhagwan! Yeh aadmi mujhe chain se marne bhi nahi dega,” she mutters, realizing arguing with this man is futile.

Let’s cut to the chase, Disha thinks. His commanding tone, treating her like an employee, asking her to come to the office as soon as possible like she doesn’t have any life—his rude behavior, prompts her to decline his request rudely. “Sorry to not feel sorry, Mr. Khanna; I am not interested in meeting you.”

Enraged, Shaurya is about to erupt when Maanveer’s presence restrains him. “Disha, it’s about Nia…” he begins, but Maanveer throws a full glass of water on his face. 

“What the fuck?” Shaurya exclaims, confused. 

Disha, who happens to be on call, thinks he was talking to her. “Are you crazy? Why are you cursing?”

Shaurya, who is fuming, turns away from Maanveer and says, “Ah! I apologize; yes, it is about ‘B. H. A. B. H. I.’ and I would like to meet with you in my office in twenty minutes. Please.” Shuarya ends the call before she can decline his request again.  

Hearing the word ‘bhabhi,’ Maanveer smirks, which only angers Shaurya more. It looks like everyone is trying to push each other’s buttons today. 

“You bastard! What makes you act like a psychopath each and every time?” Shaurya asks, wiping his face with his handkerchief. 

With a sly smile, Maanveer only remarks, “Why do you always refer to her by her nickname? She is not your friend; just think before you speak.”

“Seek help before it's too late. You're losing your mind.” Upon noticing Manveer’s glare, Shaurya falls silent.
