Author’s POV :-

Eight months later.

After the birth of their twins, Niharika and Maanveer’s life transformed into something both chaotic and beautiful. The once peaceful mornings of sleeping in or lazy breakfasts turned into a whirlwind of sleepless nights, diaper changes, and soothing cries. Yet amidst the exhaustion, there was an undeniable sense of fulfillment that neither of them could have anticipated.

Parenthood brought them closer, their bond deepening as they navigated the world of parenting together. They weren’t just a husband and wife anymore; they had become a team, united by the shared responsibility of raising their little miracles, Chirag and Noorakshi.

The initial days were tough, especially for Niharika, who struggled with the changes to her body and the constant demands of the newborns. She was often overwhelmed, waking up in the middle of the night to feed or calm one baby while the other would stir, as if on cue, just as the first one settled down.

Maanveer, ever attentive, refused to let her bear the burden alone. He became her rock, waking up with her each time, taking shifts to cradle Noorakshi or Chirag in his arms and lull them back to sleep. His quiet strength reassured her, even when exhaustion weighed heavy on them both.

“Rika, you don’t have to do this alone,” he would whisper during those long, sleepless nights. “We’re in this together.”

Sometimes, when she was too tired to respond, she would simply lean into his embrace, grateful for his unwavering support. Maanveer’s love was not only in the grand gestures but in the small moments—when he would bring her a cup of tea while she nursed the babies, or when he would shush them in the middle of the night so she could get a few minutes of rest.

The babies, however, had their own ideas of how things should go. Chirag had a habit of crying just as the household would quiet down, while Noorakshi refused to sleep unless she was in her father’s arms. There were nights when they would pace the floor for hours, one baby in each of their arms, exchanging tired smiles and whispered words of encouragement.

"Who knew we’d miss sleep this much?" Niharika would joke, though her eyes spoke of love and contentment.

"Sleep’s overrated anyway," Maanveer would chuckle, even as dark circles formed under his eyes. "As long as I have you and the kids, it’s all worth it."

Despite the challenges, there were countless moments of pure joy. Their babies’ first smiles, their tiny fingers curling around their parents’ hands, the way they giggled when Maanveer made funny faces or when Niharika sang lullabies to calm them down. These moments, however fleeting, made the sleepless nights and tired mornings fade into the background.

Parenting wasn’t easy, but it was undeniably beautiful. It was in the way Maanveer would gently kiss Niharika’s forehead when she was too tired to move or how he would take the babies for an evening walk so she could have a few moments of peace. It was in the way Niharika watched Maanveer hold their children with such tenderness, knowing that despite the sleepless nights and the constant demands, he was as devoted to their family as she was.
