Three Years Later

Maanveer slowly opened his eyes to the soft glow of morning light filtering through the curtains, illuminating the cozy room. The warmth of the moment enveloped him as he took in the sight of his family, a blissful tableau of love and tranquility. To his right, his wife, his Rika, —curled against him, her peaceful expression a perfect reflection of serenity.

Their daughter, Noorakshi, nestled against Niharika, her tiny arms wrapped tightly around her mother, while their son, Chirag, rested against Maanveer's side, his soft breath a gentle rhythm that calmed the morning air.

For a moment, Maanveer allowed himself to bask in this rare stillness, a stark contrast to the chaos that often accompanied their lives. He felt like a sandwich, lovingly wedged between the three precious joys of his life, savoring the warmth radiating from their bodies.

Yet, as much as he cherished this embrace, nature called. With a gentle sigh, he attempted to ease himself out of their cuddles, shifting carefully to avoid waking them. He could already envision the playful chaos that would ensue once the kids were awake, the laughter, the mess, and the sweetness of another day spent together.

But just as he made a move, Noorakshi stirred slightly, her sleepy eyes fluttering open to meet his gaze. “Dadda?” she murmured, a sleepy smile breaking across her face as she tightened her hold on him. Maanveer chuckled softly, his heart swelling with affection.

“Hey, Dadda’s Angel,” he whispered, brushing a gentle hand through her hair. “Did I wake you?”

“No,” she replied, her voice barely above a whisper as she nestled back against him. “I jus wotted to be cose.” she replied in her chilish voice. ( I just wanted to be close)

Maanveer couldn’t help but smile. It was moments like these that made every sleepless night worth it. With a resigned but happy sigh, he surrendered to the embrace, letting the warmth and love of his family cocoon him for just a little longer.

After a few moments of peaceful silence, Maanveer turned his gaze back to Noorakshi, who was now wide awake, her doe-like brown eyes sparkling with mischief exactly like her mother. He couldn't help but marvel at how, despite the early hour, his little girl had roused with such energy today.

“How did my sleepyhead wake up so early?” he asked, a teasing smile on his lips knowing that she is exactly like her mother a heavy sleeper.

Noorakshi's face lit up, her tiny features scrunching as she prepared to share her imaginative tale. In her sweetest baby voice, she replied, “Dadda, I am youl Agel, Mena shuba shuba labbit deka or bo muje jadana aaya. he said ‘Noor’ uto!” ( I’m your Angel, and I saw a dream in which a rabbit came to wake me up)

Maanveer raised an eyebrow, a grin tugging at the corners of his mouth. “ Rabbit? It was big or small?”

“Bala! Boat bala! Uske paas ek sundal topi bii thi!” she continued, her voice full of excitement as she animatedly gestured with her hands. ( Big, very very, and he has a cap also)
