My sleeves were ripped off. Bowls sat beside my wrists. I was chained to the floor.

I could hear Saruman's army chant from outside. He spoke to them with his booming words.

A single tear dropped down my cheek. I felt embarrassed. I almost had him.

Saruman's footsteps grew louder as he walked closer to me. I heard him unsheathe a blade and I forced my eyes closed.

I guess I was ready to die.

The blade cut into the first wrist and I screamed at the top of my lungs. I screamed until my throat felt sore. As more blood dripped into the bowl, I grew weaker. My body felt numb and my eyelids grew heavy.

When he moved on to the second wrist, I barely felt it. I couldn't feel the pain or the blood. But I could feel the magic slowly leaving my body. I could feel my soul emptying.

I no longer felt warm or strong. I felt weak and cold.

My eyelids grew heavier until I could no longer hold them open. And when my eyes closed, I saw a bright light.
