Josh sat in the passenger seat of his mom's car fumbling with his hands. He was getting really hungry and it was past his normal lunch time, but they were in the middle of nowhere. They were the only ones on the road besides the moving trucks. The radio would occasionally cut off, for the connection to any sort of electrical was weak.

"Josh, dear?" his mother took a quick glance at him.

"Yes mom?" Josh reciprocated. He looked out the window only to see nothing but endless fields.

"Please don't be so nervous." she spoke with worry in her voice. "I know this is hard for you, you're only fifteen but..." She wasn't sure what else she could say.

"I just wish... things didn't have to change." Josh sighed, looking out his window. His mother took a deep breath. "I mean, why did you even marry dad if you don't love him?" Josh contemplated.

"It-it's a tough thing to explain." she began. "Maybe you'll understand when you're older."

"Mom, you can't use the when-you-get-older excuse on me anymore." Josh said annoyed.

"Well, what I mean by that is, when you find out what love really is. Which is something you don't experience until you are older." his mother explained. Josh understood what she meant, but he found her reasoning hard to accept. He knew it would be harder for him to find his "true love" because something was different about him. Josh had a fascination about girls however in the back of his mind, he knew that there was more to it.
