Josh felt so bad for Simon. It was all his fault as well. He just couldn't ruin something that obviously meant so much to Tobi. As the two sat in the restroom, the door creaked open. Josh put his finger over his lips to tell Simon to be quiet. Two figures slowly crept past and into the next stall. Josh could hear his own heartbeat.
"Found them!" a boy popped up from the other side. Another one stood next to him. "Not in the bathroom!" he laughed. Simon got off of Josh and ran out. Josh followed along with the two boys behind them. They tried to loose them in the cafeteria and then outside. When Simon looked behind him they were gone. He stopped behind a tree.
"I think we lost them." Josh huffed. They peeked around the other side of the tree. Josh came face to face with Ethan.
"Ugh. I was hoping you two wouldn't show up." he scoffed.
"Why not?" Josh asked feeling hurt.
"Because I don't want to have lunch with two fags." Ethan stepped back. JJ showed up behind him.
"Not these two again. Haven't you learned yet that no one wants you here?" JJ scolded. Simon ducked behind Josh. "You know you're really gay when you make Justin Bieber look straight." JJ and Ethan bursted out laughing. Josh gripped the tree harder.
"I'm. Not. Gay." Josh growled. "If you're going to insult me do it right. I'm bi, as in good bye." Josh was about to leave with Simon when,
"Hello!" Harry swung from the branch above so he was hanging upside down. His face glowed with an evil grin.
"I hate you!" Josh shouted in his face.
"Why? I didn't do anything. It must of been one of you who peeped." Harry hinted. Josh went from angry to anxious real fast. He didn't want Harry to give Simon any ideas. Ethan, JJ and a couple of his friends began to close in. Simon was shaking like a leaf. JJ grabbed his shirt collar, holding him up.
"Hey! You let go of him right now!" Tobi's voice echoed through the tense air. He pushed past JJ and Ethan to get in between them and Simon and Josh. Harry, who was still hanging in the tree, grabbed the back of Tobi's jacket pulling it half way off. Tobi whipped around, grabbing Harry's face and smashing it against the tree. Harry yelped in pain as his body collapsed out of the tree. Everyone, even JJ and Ethan, was taken back by this. Harry instantly pushed himself off the ground.
"You asshole!" Harry screamed. He wiped the blood dripping from his nose.
"I warned you to watch yourself. Don't ever, touch these two." Tobi hissed.
"Harry leave it. We have all of high school left." Ethan said as the three of them walked off.
"You guys alright?" Tobi asked worried.
"Physically yes." Josh responded. He looked at Simon behind him who was clinging onto Josh's waist. Josh was about to say something when Tobi stepped in instead.
"Simon don't be afraid. I'm here, I'm your friend. I'm not going to let anyone hurt you. I'll protect you." Tobi said gingerly. Simon's grip on Josh loosened.
"You mean you don't care about our disgusting lives?" Simon looked at him dead on in the eyes.
"You, are not disgusting. You're a great person, Simon. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise." Tobi smiled. He looked over at Josh. "You too. You guys are the best friend I could've asked for."
"Speaking of best friends." Simon squeaked. "Where's, Vik?" he let go of Josh and took his hand as a replacement.
"He's probably inside." Josh guessed. Both him and Simon felt their insides being mended back up. To know that Tobi is right behind them no matter what, made them feel as if they could actually survive this onslaught of hatred.
