Chapter Twelve

Alaya's pov

After showing Jackie and Alec the music room, Alec ran off into the Rec room to sort the recording on his laptop out. Me and Jackie are messing around with the instruments when Alec runs in with a huge grin on his face

"I've got an idea!" He exclaims

"W-what is it?" Jackie asks

"Well we have the recording off your voices done so all we need is the actual music part" he says

"I thought we'd already discussed that" I say confused

"We did, that's not what I was trying to say. Well I was listening to the lyrics again and I figured out a beat! If you two can work out the melody then we can make the song!" He says excitedly

"Really?!" Jackie shouts

"Yeah! Here I'll show you the beat he says and walks over to the drum set. He starts to play and I walk over to my keyboard and start to play, the notes I play fit with the beat and make me smile widely. Jackie picks up her guitar and starts strumming cords, it sounds pretty good.

"She captures her reflection then she throws the mirror to the floor

Her image is distorted screaming, "Is it worth it anymore?"

No-oh-oh

Are you scared of the things that they might put you through?

Does it make you wanna hide the inner you?" Jackie sings and I carry on with my part. When the song is finished where all grinning

"We did I-it!" Jackie exclaims

"I know, it was awesome!" I shout

"Hey what time is it?" Alec asks and I look at my watch

"Its 3 o'clock" I tell him

"Oh I h-have to go" Jackie says jumping up

"I'll come with you" Alec says

"No its okay, y-you stay hear and s-spend some time with Alaya" she says and walks out of my door

"Alec?" I say

"Yeah?" He asks

"Do you like Jackie" I ask sceptically

"Of course I like her, I like you too" he says

"I didn't mean that, I mean do you like-like her?" I question

"Um...I..well...yes I-i do" he says nervously

"I knew it!" I shout

"Wait... How did you know?" He asks

"The way you look at her...I could just tell" I admit and he blushes a little bit

"Is it obvious?" He asks worried

"Not really, I only noticed it because I've been around you a lot" I tell him and he nods

"Okay" he says

"Why are you worried someone will notice?" I ask

"No, I don't care what anyone thinks but..." He tries to explain but I cut him off

"But nothing! If you don't care what anyone thinks why don't you tell her!" I shout

"Because... I... What if she doesn't like me!" He shouts

"Is that what your scared of?" I ask

"Yes, I don't want to tell her and then get embarrassed when she says that she doesn't like me!" He says exasperated

"I think she likes you too" I say quietly

"What? Really?" He asks and I nod "why do you think that?" He questions

"I just do, I'm not entirely certain but I think that she does" I tell him

"Oh" is all he replies

Jackie's pov

I walk out of Alaya's front door and walk down the street. Her house isn't that far away from mine so it shouldn't take me long to get home. I get there quickly and walk through the front door

"Who's that!" My dad shouts from in the living room

"J-Jackie" I answer

"Is Alec with you?" He asks

"No" I answer and hear my dad stand up

"Good because we need to have a little talk" he says coldly

"What a-about?" I ask

"I know what your doing, your using Alec to get out of the house" he says harshly

"N-No I'm not, we w-were doing work" I say and its true, not exactly true but we were doing a type of work so I'm not really lying

"Stop lying! Your just using him so you can get out of the house and be the little slut you are!" He says sharply

"No I w-was with Alec! We were w-working on a pr-project!" I exclaim scared

"Of course you were" he says sarcastically "You were being a slut, like usual" he spits out, and I feel anger building inside me, usually I ignore it but not this time! Its about time I actually stand up for myself!

"No I wasn't a-and you know it! Y-your just saying t-that because your horrible! I'm n-not a slut I've never e-even done anything with a b-boy!" I shout and my dads expression turns to shock but is quickly replaced with anger

"Why you little..." He starts to say but I cut him off

"What can y-you say slut? Tramp? F-freak? Say w-what you like! I know i-its not true! So you can...y-you can fuck off!" I shout then slam my hand over my mouth, my dad looks scary and I mean really scary

"You silly bitch!" He says hitting me it the face, I drop to the floor and my hand moves to my lip, I can taste the blood that's pouring out of my lip and hold in my sobs. I would usually pray that he would stop but now, while my dad is hitting and kicking me, I know that praying is useless and only gives me false hope. I don't know how long its been, it could have been seconds, minutes, hours but all I feel is pain everything else has gone blank, the only thing I can hear is the pounding of my heart and the continuous blows that keep hitting my body. My vision goes blurry and I start seeing black dots when I hear a gasp

"Jackie! What the hell! Get off of her!" Someone screams but I can't tell who it is, the hitting doesn't stop

"I said stop!" The person says again and I hear something that sounds like a hit only it isn't to me

"You fucking little shit! I knew she was whoring it out with you! I never should have let you stay here!" My dad screams and I hear him stomp out of the hallway

"Jackie?! Oh shit! Jackie can you hear me?!" The person asks frantically, for some reason I have a strange to comfort this person, I want to show them that I'm okay I try to speak but I can't find my voice

"Jackie! Please! I need you to be okay"I hear them say but I can feel myself growing tired

"I'm going to pick you up okay? I need to get you to a hospital!" The voice says and someone touches me, pain shoots through my body and blackness consumes me
