Alec's pov
After Jackie went me and Alaya talked for a bit longer then I decided that I should go home
"I'll see you tomorrow A!" I shout as I walk to the door
"Okay see you later Alec!" she shouts, I walk out of the door and quickly walk home. I walk into the house but stop in my tracks as soon as I see what's going on
"Jackie! What the hell! Get off of her!" I scream but the hitting doesn't stop
"I said stop!" I shout again and this time when he doesn't stop I hit him
"You fucking little shit! I knew she was whoring it out with you! I never should have let you stay here!" Her dad screams and stomps out of the hallway
"Jackie?! Oh shit! Jackie can you hear me?!" I ask frantically
"Jackie! Please! I need you to be okay" I say and she doesn't respond
"I'm going to pick you up okay? I need to get you to a hospital!" I say, I quickly pick her up in my arms and run to he next house. I bang on the door and an old woman answer
"Hell... oh gosh, what happened?" the old woman asks worried
"Her dad hurt her" I say and the old woman gasps
"Bring her in, I'll phone an ambulance" she says and I nod
"Thank you" I say as I carry her into the livingroom
"You can put her on the sofa I don't care about the blood, I'll clean it up later" she says and I nod and place Jackie down
"Jackie? can you hear me? Please be okay I-I really like you I can't stand the thought of you not being here" I say quietly feeling the tears overflow from my eyes and roll down my cheeks.
"The ambulance is on its way, the police are coming too" the woman says
"Thanks Mrs..." I start to say but trail off realising I don't know her name
"Mrs Emerson" she says smiling kindly
"Thank you, for everything" I say quietly
"Its okay sweetie, I feel kind of guilty. I've lived next door to Jackie all her life and I didn't even know she was abused" Mrs Emerson says
"She hides it well" I say
"Yes she does, if I knew I would have offered her a place to stay when things got really bad" she says sighing
"Don't worry I know she will appreciate everything you've done today" I say giving her a weak smile. We hear sirens and I jump up, a few seconds later there is a knock at the door and I race over and pull the door open
"Where is he patient?" the paramedic asks
"In the livingroom on the sofa" I say and the paramedics push past me and run to he room. I don't understand most of that there saying so I just sit there staring, tears still running down my face. I watch as Jackie starts to move then all of a sudden her eyes open and she screams, I push past everyone and grab her hand
"Jackie calm down there trying to help you" I say softly
"A-Alec?" she asks
"Yes Its me, you need to let these people help you okay?" I ask
"O-okay" she says closing her eyes open "Will you st-stay with me Alec?" she asks
"Yes" I say, I'm so happy she wants me to stay.
"Okay we need to load her onto he gurney" the head paramedic says and everyone nods. Once they get her onto it they put her in the ambulance and get ready to go
"Can I go with her?" I ask and get paramedic nods
"Thank you and thank you too Mrs Emerson" I say and climb into the ambulance. We set off and I grab onto Jackie's hand, I askank the paramedic if I could use my phone and he says yes so I click on Alaya's number and press 'call'
"Hello?" Alaya answers
"I need you too come down to the hospital" I say quickly
"What? Why?!" she says panicked
"Its Jackie" I say and she gasps
"What's happened?!" she shouts
"I walked into the house and saw her dad beating her up" I say "She was already passed out by the time I got there" I tell her
"Is it bad?" she asks in a weak voice
"Yes" I say equally as weak
"Is she going tp be okay?" she asks breaking out into sobs
"I don't know but out need to get down here" I say
"I'll be there in ten minutes" she says hanging up, we pull up at the hospital and I jump out of the ambulance and get out of he way. The paramedics get her out of the ambulance and rush into the hospital with me running behind them trying to keep up.
"Sir you'll have to wait here" a doctor says, I nod and slide down the wall. she has to be okay! If she isn't I don't know what I'll do... it will destroy me...
"Alec!" someone shouts and I look up to see a puffy eyed Alaya. She runs over to me and pulls me into a big hug
"Have hey said anything?" she asks and I shake my head
"Alaya its my fault" I say
"What?" she asks
"I should have gone home with her" i say "If I was with her this wouldn't have happened" I admit putting my head down in shame
"Alec you can not blame yourself for this!" Alaya shouts "No one expected that to happen, if Jackie knew that was going to happen she would have asked you to go home with her instead of hanging ouwith me but she didn't! Its her jerk of a dads fault not yours okay?" she asks putting her fingers under my chin and pushing it up so I have to look at her "Okay?" she repeats
"Okay" I say
"I want to hear you say you are not.responsible for what happened to Jackie" she demands and I sigh
"I'm not responsible for what happened to Jackie" I say and Alaya smile a little smile, a doctor walks though the door and towards us. The smile Alaya had is suddenly wiped off of her face
"Are you both here for Jackie Walker?" the doctor asks and we both nod "Are her parents coming?" he asks
"No her parents did this to her" I say
"Oh" is all the doctor replies
"Is she okay?" Alaya asks
"Yes, she has a few broken ribs and a lot of cuts and bruises but thats about it luckily" he says and I sigh in relief "She does need a place to rest and recover though and if you said her parents did this them I suggest you don't take her home" He says walking off
"Wait so she can leave now?" Alaya asks
"Yes you can go collect her from room 603 and then one of you will have to sign her release papers" the doctor says then walks off
"Lets go get Jackie" Alaya says and I smile. She okay! Now I know I need to tell her how I really feel, I just need to figure out how to tell her...
