NIGHT HAD FALLEN over the Monkey cage, many of the tributes began to feel the hunger settle in, most of them had not eaten since the morning of the Reaping two days ago. Reef was trying to hide her hunger not wanting to worry Mizzen anymore than the thirteen-year-old already was, he didn't need to worry about things like this.

The two tributes from Four lay together on the hard ground of the Monkey cage, staring up at the stars, Reef was teaching Mizzen all about them just like she had been doing with Dylan and the twins back home, it was something her dad had done with her when she was young and she had hoped to pass that tradition to her children someday, but she most likely wouldn't get that so Mizzen was the best option.

Although if Reef was being honest with herself the last few days with Mizzen had made her feel like she was a mother, she would do anything to keep him safe just like any mother would do for her child but she had to remember Mizzen already had one back home in Four, he excitedly talked about her to Reef whilst they sat under the rock just early in the day.

She wasn't his mother and it wasn't kind to try and replace someone he loved so much who was still alive but that wouldn't stop her from protecting him just like she was her own.

"Have people been to the stars?"Mizzen questions excitedly his brown eyes sparkling with curiosity and wonder.

A smile appears on Reef's face. "Many, many years ago. Long before any of us were born, long before Panem was a thing"Reef tells the young boy with an astonished look on his face.

"Really? Wow"Mizzen says looking deeply at the stars in the sky.

It was at that moment that Reef noticed people begin to move, Reef looked over her shoulder and saw the Capitol boy from the truck along with another boy with short brown hair, they walked up to the cage, and the boy from the truck made a be-line for the rainbow girl that Reef had learned was named Lucy Gray.

The other boy approached the bars, he had a kind smile, and he reached his arm through the gap between the bars he was holding something in his hand. "Marcus"He calls out hopefully.

All the attention fell upon Marcus the boy from two, the boy in question looked over at the boy who called his name, he looked him up and down and then turned away with a scoff, it was clear to anyone that Marcus did not like this boy.

The Capitol boy realizing Marcus wouldn't speak to him tuned to the other tributes in the cage. "Please don't be scared, I have food for all of you"He calls out gaining the tribute's attention.

Reef's stomach began to rumble, she was regretting not having breakfast that morning but there was nothing she could do to change it now, all the tributes looked at each other and began to whisper amongst themselves.

When none of the tributes moved Lucy Gray took the opportunity to speak up, she held her half-eaten sandwich in the air, Reef assumed she got it from one of the Capitol boys, and she looked at them with a smile. "You all should get one, they're really good,"She tells them all with a smile but still nobody moves.

Lucy-Gray turns to her District partner. "Go on, Jessup!"she calls out.

The older boy in question slowly walks up to the Capitol boy and carefully takes the sandwich from his hand and Jessup waits for a few minutes before the boy also drops some fruit into his hand, Jessup then walks away silently.

That caused the dam to break open, the tributes began to swarm the boy like sharks to blood in the water, they all crowed him stretching their arms between the bars desperately trying to get some food, the boy carefully dropped small pieces of fruit and sandwiches in their hands.

The Tributes quickly disperse after getting their food, and the pair from Four slowly make their way up to the boy, Mizzen reaches his arm through the bars, and the Capitol boy looks down at him with a warm smile, he places a sandwich and some fruit into his hand.

"Thank you...."Mizzen trails off not knowing the boy's names.

The Capitol boy continues to smile as he places some fruit and a sandwich into Reef's hand. "Sejanus and you're welcome"The boy responds.

The two then begin to walk back Reef placing an arm around Mizzen's shoulder the two arrive back at their spot and sit down, and the two begin to eat their food quietly.

"Marcus, this is for you. Take it please"Sejanus calls out hopefully but Marcus continues to ignore him it is clear as day that there is some animosity between the two.

Reef watches as Bobbin walks straight up to Sejanus and rips the sandwich from his hand without a word and walks away.

Sejanus looks at Bobbin kind of stunned, before walking away defeated, Reef feels kind of sorry for him it is clear to her that Sejanus is trying to make right with Marcus over something he must have done but it is also clear that Marcus wasn't in a forgiving mood.

Reef takes a bite of her sandwich, she has no clue what is in it but it tastes so good, but she doesn't know if that's because she hasn't eaten in two days or if the food is just genuinely good, she looks down at Mizzen who is happily eating a piece of fruit it also being the first time he's eaten in days.

"You like it?"Reef questions a teasing smile on her face.

Mizzen looks up at her a large smile on his face. "It's so good, why don't we get anything like this back home?"Mizzen questions as he takes another bite.

Reef looked at him, a look of guilt falling on her face, should she tell him the real reason that they don't get nice things like this is because their District or should she lie to him, his question rattled around in her brain.

"Reef? Did you hear me?"Mizzen questions when he doesn't get an answer from her.

Reef looks at him a confident smile on her face. "I'm sorry little Fish I did hear you, I was just thinking. I think it's based on supplies and stuff like that, There's not a lot to go around, you know?"Reef tells him not wanting to reveal to Mizzen the way the Capitol views them.

Mizzen seems satisfied with her answer and happily eats his sandwich, Mizzen is going to keep his innocence at all costs.
