Malachi walked back out to his office and sat down at his desk. He really didn't have anything to do. He just wanted to give her time to think the whole entire thing over.

Last night had been hard on him as he realized he couldn't just lay in bed with her and not touch her. Not when he knew she was aroused. He'd walked out and sat in the living room for twenty minutes, trying to get his mind off of her which was pretty much impossible for him. When he came back, she'd been asleep which was a good thing. It was what he'd wanted.

Her emotional turmoil for the last few days had actually brought them closer together though. But if he could go back and change it he would, and not put her through that, even if it meant they weren't as far along in their relationship as they were.

The mind link from his mother this morning had woken him up and he'd dressed quickly and went over to see her. Noelle had lectured him a bit on talking to Cassidy. He explained to her why he hadn't so far.

"Kai, you're falling for her whether you realize it or not. The longer you put this off, the more difficult it's going to be if she chooses to walk away. I don't want to see you hurt any worse than you're already going to be," Noelle had told him.

He knew she was right even though he'd rather she wasn't but he was rapidly falling for Cassidy.

His father's link telling him that she was jealous had been a bit of a surprise. Nick had cleared it up, letting Cassidy know that Kai was talking to his mother.

It hadn't taken him long to realize that Cassidy was a bit of an emotional wreck today and he'd have to explain everything to her. He had planned to wait till the weekend but given that his mother had showed up, he realized he really couldn't wait any longer. Now he was wondering how long she would keep him waiting.

He glanced at his watch. It was almost lunch time which was good because he knew she had not eaten yet. Her breakfast was still sitting on her desk, another sign of how stressed out she'd been. He hated that he'd stressed her out. She was probably stressed out now from him.

He sat staring at the floor. If she didn't want this, he'd go home. She could go back to working for Clay and he'd make a point to not return to Big Apple Industries until after she no longer worked for Clay. It would be better for them both. He knew he would get a second chance, and eventually he'd be fine but he wasn't sure how it would affect her long term. But he didn't want a second chance. He wanted her.

"Mr. Remington?"

He looked up in surprise to see her standing there in the doorway of his office. He'd been so lost in thought, he hadn't even heard her come in. It really annoyed him that she called him that but he understood why she did. "Miss Kennedy?"

"I'm really not sure why I told you that I needed time to think because I don't. I already know my answer," she said.

Well that was surprising and he wasn't even sure what to think about it. She was frowning though, making him nervous. "Okay?"

"I'd be stupid to walk away from this. You're my soul mate, and I'm never going to have this type of relationship with anyone else. I've known you like a whole two and a half weeks and I'm already falling for you."

His eyes widened at her words, and he felt like all the tension and stress he'd been feeling was suddenly lifted off his shoulders. "You're saying yes?"

She smiled at him. "I'm saying yes."

He stood up and walked over to her, stopping a foot away. "You're sure?"

She took a deep breath. "Yes, I'm sure."

Malachi wrapped his arms around her, pulling her against him. "What about becoming a werewolf?"
