Cassidy followed him out of the apartment a bit later and down to the elevator. "I bet your elevator doesn't suck."
He laughed. "No it doesn't." He hit the button for the ground floor. "Cass, if you get overwhelmed at dinner, let me know."
"Is your family going to bombard me?" she asked.
"No, I'm more concerned with you getting overwhelmed by all of the scents," he said.
"If I do, I'll let you know," she said.
He nodded. "I think I'll be able to tell."
Cassidy reached up and touched the mark on her neck. "I want to mark you."
"We will. Soon. I need to mate you before today is over with," he said.
She nodded and he felt a wave of arousal from her.
"Patience, Cass."
The elevator opened and Malachi took her hand, showing her around the ground floor. He showed her the guest rooms, gaming rooms, and the kitchen. Then he showed her the offices and dining room.
"Where's the gym?" she asked with a laugh.
"In the basement. I'll show you that later, but first, let's go eat."
"That sounds like a wonderful idea. I'm starving," she said.
"Me too," he agreed.
Malachi paid close attention to Cassidy's emotions as they walked into the dining room. The last thing he wanted was for her to get completely overwhelmed by all of the different scents. There would be many werewolves in the dining hall and their scents would all be combined. "Focus on my scent," he told her.
"That's easy," she said, looking around. "I could bury my face against you for hours."
He smiled at that. He knew the feeling.
Dinner passed quickly, with Cassidy meeting a few people, though he knew that would go on over the next few days as his pack members would take their time to greet her and not completely overwhelm her.
They finally finished eating, and Malachi got rid of both of their plates, then took her hand and led her back out to the elevator.
"Can I see the gym?"
He laughed. "Yeah." He hit the button to go down to the basement, deciding to give her a full tour. "This is the clinic over here." He opened the door.
"You have a clinic?" she asked curiously.
"Well, someone has to deliver the pups, and things happen. For instance, Ragnar's mate, Talia, and Elijah, who was Daniel's Gamma, were both shot in the head with silver bullets."
"What? Why?"
"It's a long story, but needless to say, the bullets had to be removed," he said. "And I will tell you the story at some point soon."
"I feel like you have a lot of interesting stories," she said.
"Soon, Cass. Let me finish the tour and then we'll head back home," he said. He really needed to mate her. It had been much too long, and they'd both been through too much. He needed to claim her, to assure himself that she was okay and his.
He led her down a hall and stopped by another door. "This is the server room."
"Server room? Like computers?"
"Yeah, for the werewolf community internet," he explained.
"You have your own internet?"
"Yup. Makes it easier to maintain the secret. Though we also monitor the regular internet as well," he said and moved on. "This room is our own security. They monitor our territory." He walked on down the hall and opened another door and walked inside. "And the gym."
