Cassidy's gaze darted over to Candy again, who she saw was smirking at her, as she sipped on her bourbon. What was her problem? She wasn't even taking notes, and Cassidy wondered why she was even there. Maybe to seal whatever deal they were working on with a blow job for both of the Remington men, she thought with an internal roll of her eyes. Her gaze darted to Malachi Remington.  She still wouldn't mind personally giving him a blow job.  Not that she would do it to climb the corporate ladder, but she wouldn't mind his gaze on her while she pleasured him. She wondered how big he was..

Her eyes widened a bit.  Where had that come from?

The meeting went on for two hours, and Malachi Remington stared at her just about the entire time when he wasn't speaking. She didn't really feel uncomfortable with it though, which flabbergasted her. She found herself wanting to stare back at him, but the only time she would allow herself to was when he was speaking.

She really couldn't figure out why he was staring at her so intently. He had a beautiful blonde who looked though she was more than willing to give him any thing his heart desired sitting next to him and yet he'd barely glanced her way. Maybe he preferred brunettes to blonds? She doubted it.

She was a little glad when the meeting came to an end, and she stood, glad to be no longer sitting. The men stood as well, and Malachi Remington had walked around the table and was speaking to Mr. Abbott. He was standing maybe two feet away from her.

"Not going to drink your bourbon, Cassidy? It's very expensive, you shouldn't waste it," Candy taunted as she finished off her own.

"I'm working," she reminded the other woman.

"Tsk, tsk. Don't make your boss look bad," Candy said with a smirk.

Cassidy grabbed the glass and lifted it to her lips, and the smell of it almost burned her nose. She'd probably get a buzz from it, but her shift was almost done. She planned to go home and crawl in bed anyway.

A hand grabbed the glass from her before she could swallow any of it, and she thought she felt something from where the fingers brushed against her own. She turned to see Malachi Remington staring at her, the glass in his hand.

He stepped closer to her. "You don't want any of that, Miss Kennedy." He sat the glass down on the table and shot a glare at Candy who just smiled sweetly back at him. He looked back at Cassidy, then turned back to Mr. Abbott.

Cassidy felt a bit embarrassed at the entire interaction. She was pissed at herself for letting Candy goad her into taking a drink. She usually wasn't one for peer pressure, but with the way she was feeling around Malachi Remington, she wasn't thinking straight. She was sort of glad he'd stopped her from drinking that stuff though.

Finally, Mr. Ramirez asked her and Candy to leave the meeting room so that they could talk for a few moments in private. Her gaze darted to Mr. Abbott and he nodded at her reassuringly.

She stood and followed Candy out of the room. The door was closed behind her and she walked back over to her own desk. Candy threw herself down on the couch.

"That man gets more fine every time I see him," Candy said. "Last time he was in town, a couple months ago, I was in his bed. He is an amazing lover and I can't wait until we hook up again tonight."

Cassidy felt a pang of jealousy at Candy's words but ignored it. She had no reason to be jealous and there was nothing she could do about Candy's escapades with Malachi Remington. She thought it was rather interesting that he spent the entire time looking at her and not at Candy. She didn't bother saying that out loud though. Perhaps he'd had his fun with Candy and was now looking for a new woman to bed. And as much as it pained her to think it, he wasn't going to have her in his bed either. She wasn't sleeping with the same man Candy had already slept with. She kind of despised her.

Mr. Ramirez finally walked out of the meeting room alone. "Candy, let's go."

"But where are the Remingtons?" Candy asked, glancing back down the hallway as she stood.

"Still speaking to Clay. Let's go," Mr. Ramirez growled at her.

She pouted but followed him onto the elevator. The door closed and Cassidy allowed herself a small smirk. Didn't quite get your way there, did you? she thought.

She turned her attention back to her desk. She still had some work to finish up before she could leave for the day. She did what she needed to, leaving the rest for tomorrow, then glanced through her emails one more time and straightened up her desk.

She began to wonder if the meeting was ever going to end and if she should just stick around until it did. It was past time for her to leave. She really did want to lay eyes on Malachi Remington one more time. She may never see him again.

She'd finally decided that she'd have to stay. It would be unprofessional for her to leave and she'd rather Mr. Abbott be impressed with her and not annoyed. She was just glad he wasn't pissed at her for that morning.

Finally, she heard the door open and looked up to see Daniel Remington coming down the hall. His gaze settled on her and he gave her a smile. He seemed like a nice guy but Mr. Abbott had told her they would be nice to her. He was the one with the accent. Slight, but it was there, and while he was quite beautiful to look at, he wasn't his brother.

Malachi Remington was behind him and he stopped once they reached her desk, his gaze too settling on her again. She felt like the main attraction.

Mr. Abbott walked up behind them, though they were both still looking at her and not really paying attention to anyone else. It was like they both knew something about her that she didn't.

"Gentlemen, it's been a pleasure," Mr. Abbott said. He was completely relaxed now.

"We'll see you tonight?" Daniel asked him, turning towards him.

"Of course. Seven pm sharp."

"We will see you then," Daniel said. He walked over to the elevator and hit the button to go down.

Malachi Remington's gaze was still on her and she gave him a small smile. He didn't smile back but turned and got on the elevator with his brother. The doors closed and Cassidy felt an ache in her chest as she stared at the elevator door. She had no idea what to make of the man.

"Cassidy?"

She looked up to meet Mr. Abbott's gaze. "Yes Sir?"

"You did great today. I'd like for you to come to dinner with us tonight. The Remingtons and I." He flashed her his smile.

"A business dinner?" Which meant she'd get to see Malachi Remington again.

"Not exactly but the Remington's would like to discuss some things with us and I'd like for you to be there for it," he said.

She would have thought they'd just discuss everything possible in the last three hours the two men had been there. But whatever. She had no idea what was all going on, and if she got the chance to lay eyes on Malachi Remington one more time, she'd take it. "Sure, I'll come."

"Good. Go ahead and leave now so you have time to get ready," he said, crossing his arms over his chest.

What? "How should I dress for this dinner?"

He frowned. "A dress? Not like too formal but a nice dress."

She resisted the urge to laugh. "Like a cocktail gown?"

His face lit up. "Yeah. Like that."

She smiled at him. "I'll see what I have in my closet."

"Okay I will pick you up at 6:30."

"You don't want me to take a taxi? It's not a problem. I don't want to be an inconvenience."

He looked a bit appalled. "No, not for this."

"Okay, I'll be ready."

He nodded and when she didn't move, he motioned for her to leave. "We cannot be late for this. Not with them."

She hurried out of the office and down to the ground floor, her mind racing over what she would wear for the night. Did she have anything in her closet that would qualify as a cocktail gown? Hopefully she could find something. She was very excited to see Malachi Remington again. She'd figured it would be a few months, not a few hours.
