Cassidy spent a good fifteen minutes looking through her closet for something to wear. She finally pulled out a dress that she hoped would work. She didn't have the closet to go out to dinner with a bunch of billionaires. She was going to stick out like a sore thumb, even in the little black dress. It was sleeveless, with a v neck. The hem ended just above her knees and there was a small slit up above her left knee.
She took a shower, then set to work on her hair and makeup. Her curling iron was most definitely dead and she realized for now, she'd have to leave her hair straight. She supposed it really didn't matter. Her hair was naturally straight, and it meant less effort.
She dug through her closet and found a pair of silver stilletos in the back. Her feet were going to hate her later, but they could put up with a few hours of torture. At least she'd be sitting for most of the night.
She finally got dressed in the black cocktail dress, and slipped on the silver stilettos. She pulled on her coat, and grabbed her purse. Her phone went off, alerting her to Mr. Abbott's arrival and she headed out of her apartment and down to meet him.
He picked her up in a limo, surprising her. She climbed inside and settled down near him. She'd never been inside a limo before, and wondered how nice of a restaurant they were going to.
"Well, you look nice," he complimented her.
"Thank you, Sir," she responded, flashing him a smile.
The restaurant she was taken to was extremely nice, and she felt completely out of place. Mr. Abbott seated her next to him and she opened the menu and began to glance through it.
She almost choked when she say the prices. She could never afford to eat here. She was so out of her league.
"Don't worry about the cost of any of this, Cassidy. It'll be paid for," Mr. Abbott told her.
"That's good because otherwise I'm going to be washing dishes," she muttered under her breath.
Mr. Abbott snorted and she blushed, realizing he'd heard her.
A few moments later, they were joined by the Remingtons. Cassidy looked up and saw Malachi's gaze settle on her again and she blushed a bit as he sat down next to her. The man seemed to really enjoy staring at her. He'd changed too, trading out the dark gray suit he'd been wearing earlier for a blue one. He smelled good, she noticed, and she wondered what sort of cologne he was wearing. Whatever it was, she wouldn't mind having a bottle of it, though she probably couldn't afford it.
"Hi," he said softly, his dark gaze gaze studying her intently, as he leaned in close to her.
"Good evening, Mr. Remington," she greeted him, smiling at him.
He looked even better tonight, though this was the closest she'd been to him. He had on a white shirt, and his suit brought out his beautiful eyes, though he wasn't wearing a tie now, his shirt open at the collar. His heavy muscles filled the jacket out, making Cassidy's heart beat faster. He looked absolutely gorgeous.
"You look lovely this evening," he said to her, his gaze sweeping over her.
"Thank you, Sir," she responded. "You look good too." It was out of her mouth before she'd even had time to think about it and she saw him smile.
"Thanks." He was still staring at her.
Wine was ordered for the table, something that Cassidy had a feeling was very expensive, and orders were placed for the meal. She watched the server pour her glass and wondered how many dollars were in that goblet.
She felt slightly sick at how much money was being spent on her, but she supposed she needed to get used to this, if she was going to be working for Big Apple Industries and Mr. Abbott.
