Chapter 48

She came back out of the bathroom several moments later to see Malachi standing there waiting for her. He was leaning against a wall, looking incredibly sexy in his blue tailored suit, his hands in his pockets.

He looked up at her and gave her a sexy half smile as she approached him. "Ready to go dance?"

"Can I ask you a question?"

"Of course," he agreed.

"Who was she?" She shouldn't ask. It might not even be her business and his answer might make her jealous.

"Who?" He looked confused.

"The woman you were talking to before you asked me to dance." She held her breath waiting for his answer.

"Grace?"

She shrugged.

He sighed. "I should have introduced you to her, Cass. I'm sorry for that. Grace is Clay's sister, and I've met her a few times before."

She nodded but she couldn't help the last little bit. "Sex?"

He leaned close to her. "Let me let you in on a little secret. I've never had sex with a werewolf."

She looked at him in surprise. "Oh."

"Most of them wait for their mates, and those that don't are like Candy. Well, not all of them, but quite a few of them. I've never been interested," he told her.

She sighed. "I'm sorry I've been jealous."

He shrugged. "It's fine Cassidy. But at the end of the day, it will always be you. Always."

She nodded. "Let's go dance."

The rest of the night turned out to be a lot of fun, as Cassidy and Malachi danced the night away. He kept his attention solely focused on her, as they enjoyed each other's company.

Finally, the night came to an end, and the lights came back up. Malachi leaned down and kissed her, then wrapped his arm around her. "Come on."

Alejandro, Clay and Dylan had joined them earlier, Alejandro dancing with Candy, while the other two men had found women to dance with as well.

Cassidy watched Dylan making out with a woman for a moment before turning her attention back to Kai. "What now?"

"Home. Well, sort of," he said with a smile. "Ready, gentlemen?"

"Let's go, Alpha," Alejandro said, wrapping an arm around Candy.

They left the building and got into the limo. Cassidy cuddled into Malachi, and watched the others.

Dylan had his arm wrapped around his date, Clay was kissing his, but Alejandro and Candy sort of shocked her. She was straddling the Alpha, making out with him. The Alpha had his hands under her skirt, not that it was difficult to do, given the way she was dressed.

"He's drunk," Kai mumbled very softly in her ear.

"Are you?" She could smell the bourbon on his breath and had lost count of how many shots he'd done.

"Not that drunk," he muttered.

She smiled at the disgust in his voice. She'd had a good time with him tonight, after she'd gotten over herself. But she was also thankful that he'd been patient with her about it. She'd never been the jealous type before.

The limo pulled into the underground garage and they all began to get out, all except Alejandro and Candy.

"Go, Cass. The Alpha is distracted," he said.
