After first meeting her at Summer Camp one summer, Floyd had set his eyes on Marcie, and would dub her his "Lambcake", all because he thought she was beautiful. However, despite Floyd's affections, Marcie took the term "Lambcake" as an insult, and would hit Floyd every time he would try to talk to her. Some years after that, Floyd stopped showing affection for Marcie after Tommy talked some sense into him, but that didn't stop Floyd from laying eyes on Lucy.
Now, Floyd was almost a teenager, and he was sitting on a bench in the park, thinking about how Marcie would never return his affections.
"I guess she isn't my lambcake after all." said Floyd.
Floyd sat down, only to see Lucy walk by to visit Schroeder.
"Pst!" Floyd called. "Hey, Lambcake!"
Lucy overheard Floyd, and started to get angry.
"What did you call me?!" Lucy snarled.
"Er..... lambcake." Floyd said nervously.
"What did I say about insulting me?!" Lucy added.
"It's not an insult!" said Floyd. "It's just a name!"
"Are you calling me ugly?" Lucy asked.
"No. You're achingly beautiful is what I meant to say." Floyd stammered.
"Alright, that's it!" Lucy growled as Floyd made a run for it.
"Wow! I never thought she'd be this aggressive!" Floyd cried.
"You'd better run for it, Lambcake!" teased Lucy.
Floyd had no other choice but to arrive at Roy's house.
"Floyd?" Roy quizzed.
"Hey, Cuz." said Floyd.
"What's gotten into you, Floyd?" asked Roy.
"This Lambcake of mine." said Floyd. "I tried to grab her affections, but she threatened me."
"You're not talking about Marcie, are you?" asked Roy.
"No." said Floyd. "She's in a red dress...."
"Oh." Roy realised. "You mean Lucy. Well, that's Lucy for you. She's more into Schroeder, like he's gonna grab her attention."
"Oh." said Floyd. "That's why she's like this."
Meanwhile, Lucy had made it to Schroeder's place. Schroeder now had a grand piano, meaning he could sit on a chair to play. Much to Lucy's shock, there was Violet.
"What are you doing here?!" sneered Lucy.
"Who wants to know?" asked Violet. "I happen to like music."
"Rats!" groaned Lucy. "I guess some things never change, huh?"
Lucy's mood was rather foul.
"What's gotten into you, Lucy?" asked Violet.
"This Floyd kid just called me a lambcake!" Lucy grumped. "Way to insult me like that!"
"I don't think it was an insult, Lucy." said Violet. "It's just a way of saying he likes you. Plus, I don't see how Floyd calling you a lambcake is any worse than you calling others blockheads."
Lucy thought and thought.
"Tommy and Charlie Brown were right." sighed Lucy. "I guess it isn't any worse. But still, Schroeder's the one for me, not that Floyd kid."
"Oh, good grief!" groaned Schroeder.
Floyd decided to go back to the park and relax. As he did so, Tommy Halverson arrived.
