We all know how devoted to Ludwig van Beethoven Schroeder is, don't we? He's so devoted to him, he is willing to celebrate his birthday every year. To further show his dedication, Schroeder vows to live his life like Beethoven; A lifelong bachelor... or so he claims.
One day, Schroeder was playing his grand piano he got as a present for graduating from elementary school.
"Should I have a girlfriend, or should I remain a bachelor like Beethoven?" Schroeder asked himself.
As Schroeder played Für Elise, he began thinking. Then, it struck him.
"There's just one thing for it!" Schroeder decided.
That Monday, Schroeder was writing some invitations to some friends to come over to his house.
"There. That's the last one." Schroeder said, as he put all the invitations into his backpack.
As everyone had entered their homerooms, Schroeder stood out front of his homeroom.
"Your attention please!" Schroeder said. "I have decided to throw a party this coming Friday."
"A party?" Lucy quizzed.
"Kind of like how Patty and I throw parties without inviting Charlie Brown?" Violet smirked.
"It's a special sort of party." Schroeder continued. "As I pass out all these invitations, I want you to read them and find out what they'll be celebrating."
Schroeder did just that, and as Lucy read hers.....
"Someone's birthday?" Lucy said. "Oh, I'm willing to go to any party, especially one thrown by my Schroeder!"
"Your Schroeder?" Linus quizzed. "Are you sure he's your Schroeder?"
"Oh, simmer down, Little Brother!" said Lucy. "Schroeder fascinates me with the way he's playing his piano, so of course he's my Schroeder."
"Here we go again." sighed Charlie Brown.
"Well, that's everyone in the room." said Schroeder. "But I have more invitations to hand out."
"More invitations?" quizzed Tommy.
"I wants lots of people coming to my party, especially when it's a celebration." Schroeder explained.
Schroeder's first lesson of the day was music. He had chosen music because that was what Beethoven is best known for. Some of the girls in his music class included Mary Stewart, Violet, Lila, Violette Honfleur, Heather Wold, and much to his dismay, Lucy.
"Good morning, Class." said Miss Treble. "I hope you're all ready for this week's lesson."
"Am I ever!" Schroeder said.
"Today," said Miss Treble. "We will be talking about....."
Schroeder was preparing himself.
"Ludwig von Beethoven."
"Yes!" was all Schroeder could shout.
"Schroeder, please keep it down!" said Miss Treble.
"Oh. Sorry, Miss." Schroeder said.
"As I was saying," continued Miss Treble. "could somebody please explain about Beethoven's life?"
"I will, Miss Treble." Schroeder said, raising his hand.
"Schroeder, if you please."
Schroeder did just that, and Lucy entered fantasyland.
"Ludwig van Beethoven was born and baptised in Bonn, Germany, in December, 1770. He was best known for composing all different sorts of music. Sadly, Beethoven passed away on March 26, 1827. He was a lifelong bachelor."
