ATHENA DUG HER FINGERS INTO HER TEMPLES, PRESSING UNTIL THE TIPS TURNED WHITE. The dull throb there hadn't gone away in the moments since she'd escaped to her bedroom, and she was quick to grow tired of it. She had a very long list of things that made her patience run thin in minimal time and being haunted by a vampire hunter that she rightfully killed was already beating out records that had been there for years.

A knock sounds on the door she'd hastily shut and she startles slightly, dragging her hands across her face to press into her eyes until she saw stars.

"Athena? Are you in here?"

"Yeah," She starts, voice weaker than intended. "Yeah, I'm just– taking a minute."

Bonnie pushed the door open, hesitantly sticking her head in to look at Athena concernedly. "Are you alright? Stefan said you disappeared after Nick left,"

Athena started to nod, but she quickly shook her head, covering her mouth with her palm as she looked at Bonnie helplessly. "The curse,"

Bonnie's eyes widened and she quickly stepped into the room, shutting the door behind her. "It's– it's real? You're cursed?"

Athena nods.

"What... what have you seen so far? What's happening to you?"

"I have a headache from hell, and I hallucinated Connor," She keeps her voice low, all too aware of the fact that Stefan could be lingering anywhere within earshot. "He didn't do anything to me, just said some stuff. Told me that he's a figment of my imagination, so everything he says has to be true."

Bonnie pursed her lips unhappily, worry shining in her big brown eyes. "Athena,"

"I know. I know, Bonnie,"

"Klaus was cursed for fifty years," The witch stresses, taking a seat at the end of the bed beside Athena. "You can't do this for fifty years, let alone longer."

"I know," Athena bites out, pushing her hair behind her ears. "I'm not going to. I'll find a way to break the curse. I will."

"How can you be so sure?"

Pushing to her feet, Athena shrugged off her worries and turned to face Bonnie with an attempt at her usual smug demeanor. "Because I'm me. I always win, right? Why would this be any different?"

Bonnie bites her bottom lip anxiously, looking like she wants to argue even though she knows it would be like talking to a brick wall. Instead, she just nods and lets out a long sigh. "I'll try to find something about it. Maybe... maybe I can contact the witch spirits and see if one of them knows something."
