Today is the 7th annual BET Awards and Mo'Nique would be hosting it for the third time. The couple had to travel to California for this award show. Toni would be receiving a Trumpet award which would be presented by Kenny. This award celebrates African American excellence and achievement. Toni is so honored to receive that award and she's so excited, she can't wait until later. She is going to wear a red dress with diamonds while Kenny will be wearing a grey suit. Right now Marie is doing Toni's hair and makeup while she talked on the phone with Peyton.
"Mommy, what TV are you on?"
"Channel 54, but not right now baby. Grandma will know when to put it on."
"Okay."
"Are you having fun?"
"Yes! Grandma made cookies and macaroni, and chicken and trees."
"Trees?"
"She means broccoli." Barbara said from behind the screen and Toni chuckled.
"Ohh."
"Yeah, brocwii."
"Broccoli baby."
"I try to say it."
"Yes, you did try."
"I wanna speak to daddy mommy." Toni nodded and shouted for Kenny. He soon came into the room and grabbed her phone, speaking to his daughter.
"She loves you so much." Marie said and Toni nodded with a smile.
"I know and I love her too. It's sad that she had to go through that whole thing with Nicole." Toni said.
"She's so young. She shouldn't have had to go through that." After two hours of getting pampered, Toni was finally ready. She put on her red dress and the two of them took pictures before leaving.
"You look very beautiful baby." Kenny spoke as they entered the limo. His hand rested on her lower back and she smiled before kissing him.
"Thank you baby and you look very handsome."

Shrine Auditorium
Getting out of the car, lights flashed in their eyes. Kenny protectively wrapped his arm around Toni's waist as they waved to their fans. Walking inside, Kenny immediately got called to do an interview and so did Toni.
"Toni I see you walked in here with Babyface." LeToya Luckett spoke and Toni slightly blushed. The two of them have spoken to each other at many occasions over the years.
"Yes, I did."
"Mmhmm, and?"
"And nothing... LeToya what do you want to hear?"
"You know what I want to hear, and what the people want to hear."
"Well, people." She looked at the camera, "There's nothing to say."
"Toni don't play." Just then Kenny came up behind Toni and held her waist.
"Hey, Babyface." LeToya said with a smile. He chuckled and said hello back. "I was just chatting here with Toni and she won't tell me a thing."
"Why are you acting so shy, baby?"
"Ohh, baby?!"
"Kenny don't tell her anything." Toni joked and they laughed.
"Are you guys dating?"
"That's what the people want and sometimes you have to give them what they want." Kenny spoke indicating that the two of them are in fact dating. LeToya caught on,
"Yes! I love it! And there's a little something on your finger Toni, well a big something. Cameraman zoom in on that." Toni blushed and shook her head as she hid her hand behind her back.
"Cameraman don't."
"That seems like a big promise ring."
"LeToya you're so aggravating." She playfully spoke and they laughed. "It's an engagement ring." Toni added.
"Congratulations! Am I invited?"
"No, you better stay home." Toni joked. After the interview was over the couple took a few more pictures and headed to the room where the award ceremony would be held. They took their assigned seats next to Janet, Whitney, Michael, and Natalie. Music played and Al Green came out singing Let's Stay Together. The crowd was in awe of him, Al Green is a legend.

"I am the only black headliner in California how bout that?" George Wallace spoke and the crowd cheered, "Well Toni Braxton is here but she's light skin." Toni's mouth dropped but she couldn't stop herself from laughing. Whitney giggled and looked at her friend.
"He got you." She spoke and Toni nodded.
"Toni is amazing and I am glad that a special award is going to her tonight and here to present that award to her is her good friend... well I shouldn't say friend, Babyface." Kenny walked out on stage and the crowd cheered for him.
"Thank you, as a record producer the one thing we're always looking for is that voice, that special something that separates an artist apart from another. Well, Toni Braxton is one of those girls..." A video of Toni played on the big screen. Once the video was over Kenny called her onto the stage.
"Ladies and gentlemen, would you please join me in welcoming my beautiful baby, Toni Braxton." The crowd cheered and Janet patted her leg before she stood up. She walked to the stage with a big smile on her face. When she got to Kenny, he hugged her before giving her the award.
"This is so great and so exciting. I am so proud to be an African American. I just want to thank you guys for this, this means the world to me. And to my baby Peyton at home, mommy loves you." Toni blew a kiss to the camera and the crowd awed. "Thank you." She exited the stage and headed backstage where Kenny was waiting for her. She hugged him tight and he kissed her cheek.
"I'm so proud of you baby."
The couple danced together at the after-party for the BET Awards. Toni won another award for best music video for her song Irreplaceable, so she's taking home two awards tonight.
"I wish Whitney would get up there and sing." Toni said to Kenny and he nodded.
"You should get up there."
"Nope. Petition to have Whitney sing."
"No!" Whitney said and they laughed.
"Yesss Whitney pleaseee."
"Toni no, you go sing."
"No never mind."
"If I sing Nippy you have to join me." Natalie said and Whitney nodded.
"Wowww, I tell you to sing and you won't do it..." Toni said acting like she was offended. Natalie and Whitney went on stage and began singing This will be.
"This will be,"
"Oh!"
"You and me,"
"Oh!"
"Yes, siree,"
"Oh!"
"Eternally! Huggin' and squeezin' and kissin' and pleasin' Together forever through rain or whatever Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you and me!" They sang while swaying from side to side.
