A city under the night veil was a dangerous temptation. Unusual seeds were germinating beneath the surface.
*Sigh*
Only the sound of heels clicking on the ground could be heard. The girl let out an exaggerated sigh as if wanting to break the silence.
It was a dark night when Y/n was lost in the streets of Xianzhou, her surroundings clearly unknown to her as she felt a sense of unease and unfamiliarity while walking around.
Despite this, Y/n kept a calm exterior as she continued to walk around slowly, not wanting to draw unnecessary attention to herself and hopefully find her way around.
"Why did Yaoshi even assigned me to this kind of place?" Y/n muttered.
The dark streets of the Xianzhou was filled with tall bamboo trees and other various types of plants, which provided a calming view and atmosphere despite the darkness of the night. The waterfall that was nearby was also a pleasant sight as it gently crashed down the cliff side and created a calming ambiance that provided a peaceful feeling to the immediate surroundings.
As she walked further along the side of the waters towards the waterfall, Y/n attention was suddenly drawn to the sight of a fine woman meditating with a calm and serene look on her face underneath the waterfall.
The water from the falling water had also created a fine mist over the area, with the moonlight that shined down on the area also creating a fine view. Seeing the woman meditating was a soothing sight to Y/n's eyes.
"Is she... a goddess..?"
Y/n could not help but admire the beautiful sight of the woman meditating beneath the waterfall, finding her appearance to be quite breathtaking with her soft features and peaceful aura. There was something about the woman that just drew Y/n's attention and admiration, as she found herself unable to look away from her.
As Y/n slowed down her pace and continued to walk, she accidentally snapped a branch as she stepped on it and this caused her attention to be diverted lower onto the ground. When she looked back up, she found that the woman who had been previously meditating under the waterfall was no longer there. This caused her to momentarily feel quite alarmed and worried that the woman had noticed her presence and left the area due to her disturbance.
However Y/n soon after felt an icy aura envelope her surrounding area, it was a clear sign of intimidation and threat to her presence here. Upon turning around slowly to face this threat, she was stunned to see the fine woman she noticed previously, who was now pointing a sword directly at her. She had no choice but to raise her hands and surrender to this woman, for any resistance might only make this situation worse for herself.
Y/n remained still and silent as she looked into the woman's crimson eyes, which were filled with a sharp glare of intimidation and warning. It was quite obvious that this woman was not someone who would tolerate any kind of resistance or disobedience, and Y/n knew this all too well. Instead, she could only stare back at the woman's unblinking eyes with no other choice than to wait out this silence and this encounter.
"Speak your purpose."
The woman who had the sword pointed right at Y/n suddenly spoke in a direct and commanding tone, seemingly not liking the silence and lack of responses from her. Y/n thought that she was quite intimidating but this was one of those situations where she had no choice but to do what this woman asked her to.
"...Forgive me if I suddenly interrupted your meditation, but I lost my way here and accidentally found this place."
Y/n decided to take a risk and speak up honestly about the reason she unintentionally intruded upon the woman's meditation. She figured that this would be the wise choice, as any lying or attempting to deceive the woman would likely only worsen her situation. Her explanation was brief and clear, and the only thing she could do now was await the woman's response to her explanation.
