Chapter 15: Taunt

Y/n was now awake and found herself sitting at her desk, realizing that she had fallen asleep and dreamt about her and her mentor's first encounter that she had had in her dream. It would seem that this encounter with the sword champion had left quite an impression on her subconscious mind, which led her to recall this event and be drawn towards it in her dreams.

Y/n couldn't help but thought to herself about how Jingliu may have left her feeling exhausted both physically and mentally from the intimate encounter between them last night, which would have been the reason for her suddenly falling asleep without realising it. It was clear that the dream she also encounter with her mentor was something that held a lot of meaning for Y/n.

She stood up from her seat, obviously in need of some time to clear her head and get some fresh air. She decided to take a walk in a small, secluded garden to get away from her surroundings and give herself a moment to relax and contemplate. She just wanted to take some time away from it all and be alone with her thoughts.

After staying silent for a while to contemplate her own thoughts, Y/n suddenly sensed another presence near her and immediately assumed that the presence watching her was her master.

"...There's no need to watch my actions when we're alone in this area, mentor." She spoke out and directly addressed her mentor before Jingliu appeared behind her.

Y/n then turned around to face Jingliu yet only to be greeted with her lover's expression of bitterness and hatred towards her. This expression made Y/n feel quite uneasy and it seemed that the tension between these two had not let up even after the night of their intimate encounter.

"...I see that you still haven't lifted that hostility against me, mentor."

"Oh? What did you expect?" Jingliu responded bluntly with a hint of coldness in her voice before taking a few steps towards Y/n with a steely gaze.

Y/n sighed, "I guess letting my body have an endless sex with you last night doesn't count as an apology."

Jingliu stayed silent for a moment after hearing the unexpected remark from her student.

"Is that how you apologize then..? By offering your body?" Jingliu asked harshly, her bitterness and hostility towards Y/n was evident as she frowned at her, looking at her in a disparaging way.

"What? No, I- you know what I meant."

Jingliu just scoffed as she was now inches away from Y/n.

"No I didn't, perhaps you should clarify for me then." Jingliu retorted back, keeping her expression and stance steady as she seemed to get close enough to Y/n, close enough such that she could feel the heat from their close proximity.

However, Jingliu did not look like she was in the mood to listen, as her eyes remained fixed on Y/n, filled with bitterness, hostility and disdain.

"...Are you still not backing down from your words of reclaiming me..?"

"I am not." Jingliu spoke curtly as she grasped Y/n's chin roughly with one hand, her other hand was clenched tightly over her own sword hilt.

It was clear that she was not planning to back down from her words as she remained just as hostile and determined towards Y/n, if not even more so than before.

Y/n, however, only chuckle lightly as a response, "Goodluck taming one of the loyal emanators of The Abundance then~"

"I shall succeed." Jingliu responded, not showing any hint of amusement from her student's words as she gripped her chin even more tightly and leaned even more closely to her; it was clear that she wasn't going to let Y/n easily get away from this situation.
