Chapter 13: Enigma

The morning sun shined brightly over the cloud-filled sky, the cool wind and light breeze carrying with it a sweet aroma that filled the entire room. However, in spite of all that, Y/n still felt a bit worn out and exhausted as she woke up from her bed.

"Why is my body..." Y/n then paused for a moment as she remembered something.

"...Oh, right..."

After Jingliu helped Y/n return to her own room, Jingliu continued with her assault on Y/n by not letting her rest so easily. She suddenly felt the warmth from their kisses and touching of their bodies as she remembered how Jingliu had continued to reclaim her even until morning.

"Just exactly how many times did I came from all of my mentor's assault..?"

Y/n could no longer remember how many times she had orgasm from all of the touching and fondling by Jingliu, as the night had been filled by so much passion and intense desire. Every time they kissed and touched, she felt the pleasure deep inside her and couldn't even remember how many times she reached climax from it.

When Y/n looked at the dampened sheets on which she was lying, she felt a rush of heat flushing the skin of her face when she realized the truth about how much they had done last night. She had not even realized she was laying on such a soaked bed, but the feeling of the sticky liquid against her skin slowly sank in to her consciousness as she realized that her body had definitely released a fair amount of fluids after last night's experience.

"I guessed enough to wet the bed..."

Y/n sighed to herself, she had indeed realized that the Mara had indeed affected Jingliu's personality even until now, given how much her lover had acted and how assertive she was when they made love yesterday. This led to Jingliu taking charge in bed instead, and Y/n felt like she did not even have a chance to give pleasure to her. Despite this, what she had felt at that time was undeniable and there was no doubting that she had also thoroughly enjoyed last night's encounter.

As Y/n looked around the room in search of her master, she couldn't find a single trace of her. In fact, everything seemed to indicate that Jingliu had already left and now she was completely by herself.

"...."

Y/n just sighed and decided to quickly clean up her room and go report back to Jing Yuan, that was the best course of action as she had clearly exhausted herself during last night's passionate encounter.

She took the time to get herself organized and prepare herself for the day ahead. She reported back to Jing Yuan, though she only informed him that Jingliu has not disclosed much information about her encounter last night. This was somewhat expected from her as she knew their master's habits of being very closed off. However, what she did not mention to Jing Yuan was their love making that she had with Jingliu.

"...So what are you planning to do next with her, general?" Y/n asked Jing Yuan.

"...We will wait for a little longer and observe her actions. She must've a good reason to come back at the Xianzhou other than to see her apprentice."

Jing Yuan spoke in a very formal tone as he replied to Y/n's question, but there was a hint of sadness and curiosity in his voice as he thought about his current situation with Jingliu and her refusal to surrender. He took a deep breath to contain his feelings as he continues with his answer and statement.

"There is only so much she can do before she realizes that what she has been doing will ultimately lead her to destruction."

"...I understand..."

With that, Jing Yuan dismissed Y/n from their brief talk since he also has duties to tend to with the other visitors who seek for his presence at the Luofu. This included the Astral Express crew, who were probably there to discuss with him about the recent developments, as they were now stuck in a long-term mission with him in order to locate their target.

Y/n returned to her duties as a judge in the Ten-Lords Commissions, an important role that required her full attention. However, despite the importance of her job, her thoughts and attention constantly drifted back to Jingliu and what she may be doing at this current moment.

"Just what are you up to mentor..?" Y/n whispered to herself.

It was still unclear as to exactly what Jingliu's plans were. While the Mara and Jing Yuan's influence might have had a significant part to play in her refusal to surrender, Y/n knew well that there was much more to the situation. After all, it wasn't like Jingliu has ever been easy to read and predict. Even when Y/n was still her apprentice, it was sometimes difficult to accurately guess her next action or decision.

Y/n, despite being concerned about Jingliu, had to think about the plan given to her from Yaoshi of the Abundance. It was more important and Y/n would have to put aside her feelings towards her mentor in order to focus on this plan and ensure that there will be zero delays to it.

While she was focused on thinking about the plan and actions which Yaoshi had given her, she did not notice that she was subconsciously touching the symbol of The Abundance above her chest.

She thought about whether the actions she took before were right, she felt a hint of guilt and a small amount of doubt about her decisions that had taken place previously from the past.

As she pondered about the order given by her Aeon and whether her allegiance and obedience to them was more important than her past betrayal towards Jingliu, Y/n began to feel confused about where she should truly place her loyalty and devotion. After all, she has spent her entire life serving The Abundance, while on the other hand, she had made the decision to betray a person who was closest to her and had placed all of Jingliu's trust and faith in her.

Neither decision was indeed a straightforward one, and no matter which option she chose, it would undoubtedly come with its own set of consequences. The Abundance would clearly be unhappy if she refused to follow their orders, yet at the same time, Jingliu would also not take it well if she continued to obey. Whichever decision she made, there will be risks and consequences that she would inevitably face.

Y/n could only rubbed her temple in frustration.

"Jingliu, just why won't you give up..?"

It was clear that trying to figure out and understand Jingliu's actions, thoughts and feelings was starting to take a toll on Y/n as her frustration at her master only compounded and her confusion did not alleviate.

Despite all this, Y/n couldn't deny the fact that Jingliu had become a huge part of her life as well from their time as student-apprentice and their time spent together in the past as she could not help but feel concern towards Jingliu and a desire to keep her close by.
