Blood.

The entire field was painted red in its purest form. Bodies were scattered all over like seeds, some were ripped to pieces and others were covered in gashes so deep, a bone could be seen. The metallic scent of blood was polluting the air. This was finally the end, everything they have worked to hard to protect fell apart in a matter of seconds.

"AIDEN!" Two animalistic growls shook the ground.

The man in question could only smile through tears, he had just found them and now he was losing them forever. Aiden hated it, he tried to extinguish the raging fire around him however, he was already too weak. He was no match for the Queen of Orbit in his state. He knew the moment his mates realized that there was nothing to be done in order to save him. They were fighting a losing battle and they've already lost too many. Aiden swallowed his tears as he looked around him.

"I'm sorry." He muttered so quietly, no one heard him over all the chaos going on around them.

He didn't know whether he was apologizing to himself for not being able to protect everyone. Or was he apologizing to his mates for leaving them so early? Was he apologizing to all the lives they've lost in this war? What exactly was he apologizing for? His mind was racing a mile per second.

"Deacon, do something, please!" The king of all werewolves pleaded with his twin as the watched their mate burn alive.

The Royal Beta shook his head as his powers failed to douse the flames, "I can't." He whispered in a broken voice.

"But I can." A voice cut through the noise in the battle field.

Dragon and Deacon turned around so fast they almost had a whiplash. Their wolves, Lightning and Storm were on guard but relaxed when they noticed the new arrival was no threat.

Aiden smiled when he saw the person in front of them, " You're late." He stated.

"Oh, I'm sorry that we had to fight our way through to get to you." The man said sarcastically as he used his magic and doused the fire trying to burn Aiden. " And you're welcome, dear brother." He muttered.

Aiden only managed to let out a chuckle before he was pulled into a hug by his mates."Thanks, Eden, we owe you our lives for this." Dragon said as they pulled back.

Eden smiled," That sounds lovely but I don't want your lives. We are family and family looks after each other. Now let's get back to the fight before that bitch kills everyone."

The trio did not need to be told twice, their presence made a difference and they were able to keep the enemy at bay. They were still on the losing end and they were all exhausted.

The Queen of Orbit laughed," You think you can defeat me and my Army? How ridiculous." She scoffed,"You may have killed the members of the council but I am not them. I am more powerful than any of you combined."

" That's because you haven't fought us yet." A powerful voice startled everyone.

A bolt of lightning hit the warzone killing a lot of the enemy's soldiers. Everyone jumped back in shock before turning around only to come face to face with a stoic Gage. He was clad in light blue outfit with a coat that touched the heels of his feet. Next to him was Svetlana clad in all black.

"You! How dare you show your face in front of me?" She snarled.

Gage did not pay attention to her, he looked around him. Then he shifted his gaze to the few warriors that were still fighting and then he looked at his parents." Forgive us for being late, father.
