General's Twin?

" Gege?" An innocent voice called pulling the soulmates away from each other.

Lan Wei turned around to find his twin sister pouting. Her beautiful skin looked unusually pale, she also looked sickly and her beautiful white hair made her look heavenly. " A'Li, what are you doing here alone? Where are your guards and maids?"

The girl frowned, she hasn't noticed Cage yet as her eyes were focused on her brother. " Zhanli wanted to meet Gege, Gege left Zhanli for too long. Will Gege leave again?" There was sadness and pain in her innocent eyes.

Lan Wei's gaze soften and he sauntered over to her, he did not touch her though which seemed strange to Cage. It was clear that they loved each other a lot, he also could feel his mate's longing to touch his sister so then what was holding him back? "Gege is sorry, A'Li. This one does not mean to leave you but the kingdom is in danger so Gege has to protect it. Did you get hurt again?"

Zhanli tilted her head, her eyes filled with tears as she fidgeted with her fingers." Gege promised to take Zhanli away from here. Zhanli does not like the palace, Concubine Lee tried to sell Zhanli again and father wants to marry Zhanli off. Father knows that if males touch Zhanli then it hurts but he still wants to marry me off. Zhanli doesn't like it here, Gege." She whimpered in a small voice.

Zhou Lan Wei wanted nothing but to pull his sister in his arms but he knew that if he did then he'd only hurt her. He hated how she was treated in the castle, she was his twin but when they were younger she was poisoned by concubine Lee. The poison made it so that Zhanli can not be touched by any man and if she happens to touch a man even by mistake then her entire body will hurt. It'd feel like her bones are breaking from within and she's being skinned alive. The Emperor had tried to find a cure for the poison but there was none, even Lan Wei tried but he too came back with nothing. Over the years, the princess which the king once dotted on was forgotten and he lost any love for her. Zhanli was the King's favorite like Lan Wei but ever since she was poisoned, she could not spend as much time with her father as she wanted and hence, she became a distant memory over the years. There was never evidence to prove that Concubine Lee was the one who poisoned her hence, she was never punished.

As the General was lost in his thoughts, he was unaware that he had somehow projected his thoughts to Cage. The werewolf-merfolk prince was livid, he saw the images projected by the Crown Prince and the pain these two had to go through. They practically had no one in the palace apart themselves. Although the Emperor favours Lan Wei, he is still oblivious to the suffering his son is enduring along with his forgotten daughter. Also the emperor's love for concubine Lee is preventing him from seeing the woman's schemes.

"公主，你進來關門好嗎？ (Princess, why don't you come in and close the door, ok?)" Cage's husky voice startled Zhanli.

The girl looked up and couldn't look away, for some reason, she trusted the stranger in her brother's chambers. After Cage had told Lan Wei his name, they had moved to the Crown Prince's chambers to talk further. Zhou Zhanli entered the room and shut the door behind her. She slowly, yet curiously walked closer to Cage. She was fascinated, she watched as his eyes glowed a bright gold the second she was close enough. Her curiosity got the better of her and before she could stop herself, she reached out and touched Cage's cheek.

"A'Li!" Zhou Lan Wei called out,panicked but it was already too late.

The Princess jerked back as a gutteral scream left her throat. Her body twisted in an awkward angle. Her cries broke her brother as well as Cage. Sensing his twin's distress, Gage teleported to the room automatically. He was stunned by the sight in front of him. He quickly clicked his fingers and Zhanli passed out. Gage used his air element to carefully move the girl to the bed knowing not to touch her. Lan Wei was shocked seeing a carbon copy of Cage. If it weren't for his sister being ill, he'd have surely taken time to admire the new arrival.

"兄弟，這個世界上的任何毒，只有我們的血才能解。她很快就要喝我們的血了，她快死了。 (Brother, only our blood can cure any poison in the world, she needs to drink our blood soon, she's dying.)" Gage shook his brother out of his tormented stupor.

Cage was quick to act, his talons elongated and he slashed his wrist and brought it to Zhanli's mouth. The Princess luckily did not resist the blood that flowed into her mouth. When Cage fed her enough, he closed the wound and stepped back, Gage did the same as his twin before closing his own wound. Zhou Lan Wei watched silently, he did not want to interfere if it meant his sister would heal.

As the twins' blood travelled through her system, Zhou Zhanli's body glowed a bright red before she opened her eyes slowly." Gege? " She whimpered as she looked around.

Zhou Lan Wei rushed over," I'm here, meimei, are you ok? Does it hurt anywhere? "

The princess shook her head before turning to Cage and Gage. She gaped when she saw that there's two of them.
"Gege, why are there two handsome geges here with us?" She asked innocently.

Unable to hold back a smile, Cage leaned forward and kissed the princess on the forehead. " We are here to protect you and your Gege." He mumbled.

Zhou Zhanli gasped, tears filled her eyes as she felt warmth in her heart. There was no pain, she was touched by a male but she did not feel anything apart from warmth and safe. " Wei Gege, I- I don't feel any pain. See, this handsome Gege touched Zhanli and it did not hurt." She cried joyfully.

An overwhelmed Zhou Lan Wei engulfed his sister in a tight hug. He could not believe it, for the first time in years, he can finally hold his sister without hurting her. Tears of joy streamed down his eyes as his sister clung to him for dear life and sobbed in joy as well as relief.
