Ep. 1 - I Accidentally Vaporize My Pre-Algebra Teacher
"Where the hell is Dy? Clarisse is going to kick our ass if Dy doesn't show up," Chris groaned, jumping up and down as he looked at Luke. Clarisse sprinted up next to them and laughed. Her curly brown hair was tied into a tight ponytail and it bounced up in down in a mocking manner.
"Where's your little winner? Well, you're still gonna lose," Clarisse didn't wait for them to answer, before sprinting up to the challenge. She just liked making fun of Dylan and making fun of her friends.
The crowd cheered for Clarisse as usual and Luke face-planted into his palm. The stadium was filled with campers. Only the skilled campers were chosen for this game because they made it far enough. It was the final test of this section of games. One camper would win by removing the glassy red ring in front of the lion's mouth. The obstacle tower was moving and sending campers flying to the ground.
"Come on D...we need this," Luke muttered, sliding his hands into his sweatshirt pockets. He pushed down and bent his back. He let a long groan out. Chris, Travis, and Connor all turned to him with confused faces. They rolled their eyes, making Luke roll his own eyes at them.
"Dude. Where the hell is she? Where is she?" Travis pressed, glaring at Luke before the red teams' crowd erupted in excitement. Clarisse had just knocked off some second-year from the obstacle.
Luke was about to return when the other half of the team erupted in laughter. Luke's team. Annabeth's team. Dylan's team. Luke spun around only to be collided with Dylan herself. Perfect timing, he thought. He stumbled backward and slipped his arms under Dylan's arms so she wouldn't fall. She leaned in his arms, lacing up her boots. She pulled tight and tied a tight knot. She stood up and jumped up and down a couple of times. "Thanks,"
"Where the hell were you?" Luke asked, tilting his head.
"I was trying to find my daggers! I lost them. I lost them!" Dylan panted, glaring at him. Luke cracked a smile before pulling two daggers out and handing them over. "You had them? Seriously? Luke!"
"You had to come at some point. I just-"
"You just thought! You thought? Might as well dig these things into you," she glared at him. She slid the daggers into the back of her jeans into their pockets.
"Just get up there and win this. We can't afford another loss," Chris joined in. Dylan looked over at him with an unimpressed look.
"Shut up Chris," Dylan snapped, rolling her eyes.
"Shut up Chris..." Chris mocked her. She placed a hand on one of her daggers before he shut up. He knew not to mess with her when she was pissed. Ever. Mostly everyone knew that.
"Clarisse! Go Clarisse! Clarisse!" the crowd chanted, and clapped their hands.
"Just win," Luke muttered.
Dylan groaned, before backing up. She walked back into the little door she came sprinting in from seconds earlier and took a breath. She shut her eyes, before taking off. She jumped onto the rock barrier that separated from the sand and crowd. She jumped onto the bar and one of the swinging ladders almost hit her. The next one came and she grabbed ahold of it.
The speed picked up and she climbed the rungs one by one. The floor above Dylan creaked and Max tumbled through the opening. She grabbed onto the ladder next to Dylan. Clarisse appeared from above and looked at the two girls. She started laughing before she bent down and started shaking the ladder. Max didn't have a tight enough grip and was thrown to the sand. She rolled a couple of times before stopping in front of Luke and Chris.
