Ep. 2 - I Become Supreme Lord of the Bathroom
Perseus Jackson. Percy Jackson was asleep for two days, keeping everyone on their toes. Rumors were being spread almost as fast as Hermes' travel, especially about him killing the Minotaur on his first time. Grover returned to Dylan repeatedly, telling her news about Percy and keeping her updated. But every time he talked to her about Percy, Dylan seemed distant and unfocused. He knew Dylan long and well enough that he understood something was up with her.
Dylan stabbed her food with her fork and chewed on her green peas. Luke took notice of her snippy attitude and kicked her under the table, catching her attention. She looked up, her eyes showing that she was unimpressed with his behavior. "You good?"
"Yes," Dylan answered, knowing that he would know it was a full-on lie. He could tell it in her eyes that she was lying. He knew from the two years of training and teaching when Dylan was lying, cause he taught her how to lie. And it was very similar to how he lied. The two of them were very similar.
Chris and Connor shifted their gaze at Luke, and he shrugged his shoulders. Max and Josie shared a glance and then looked at Luke. The boys were sitting on one side and the girls on the other.
The conch shell sounded and Dylan stood up. She had places to be, or that was what she was telling herself to fill up her mind and get it off Percy. She made her offer and marched off to the Hermes cabin to spend some time alone. Luke shifted his gaze back to his friends across the table, and then to his plate.
"You're friends acting weird. You should go find out what is wrong. Since you guys are like super close. You guys have a weird friendship," Josie commented, slowly standing up.
"Hey, J, you want to practice bow?" Max asked, standing up and following Josie to the fire. She knew how to take Josie away from all the action and let the boys do their own thing. Usually it would be Josie and Max and Dylan, but not this time. The two girls talked about what they were going to do.
"So? Luke, buddy, when are you asking Dy out? You guys clearly have something for each other," Connor muttered, nudging Luke on the shoulder. Luke glared at him and looked back at his plate.
"We don't have anything. We're just friends," Luke responded, standing up and dropping his food into the fire. Connor and Chris rolled their eyes knowing that Luke had a crush on Dylan. They had grown super close over the two years and Luke had taught her everything he knew.
Luke headed down the pathway and to the Hermes' cabin. Dylan was sitting on her bed, legs crossed. She was fiddling with her dagger before she caught sight of Luke. "What do you want?" she asked, a bit of venom in her words. She was just a bit annoyed.
"You're not acting like yourself. Ever since you saw the new kid, you've been acting weird. It's been two days. Two full days, Dy," Luke answered, slipping in between campers who were running around and talking. Luke walked over to her bed and dropped on the sheets. Dylan lifted her legs and glared at him. He pushed her feet off her bed, resulting in her sitting up and looking at her.
"I've seen him,"
"What do you mean?"
"In my dreams. I've seen him in my nightmares. It's all the same dream. It's a park. Then it becomes a sand storm and I'm sinking into the sand. And he reaches out to grab me but then I wake up," Dylan answered, rubbing her hands together before interlacing her fingers tightly.
"You never told me...well--how long have you had them?"
"Ever since I got here," Dylan answered, biting her tongue. She had told Luke almost everything but had kept her nightmares away from him. Among other things.
