INT. DEMRAY RESISTANCE HANGAR (MYRA) - DAY
CHEWBACCA sits on top of the Millennium Falcon, repairing the damage from the recent dogfight over Tralgaria. REY meditates at the opening of the hangar. Standing together next to a table are BEAUMONT KIN and C-3PO, the two are looking through one of the sacred Jedi Texts and are trying to translate some of the unknown letters. POE DAMERON approaches the two with BB-8.
POE DAMERON
Hey, have you guys seen the
General?
C-3PO
No sir. She was speaking with
Mistress Rey a while ago.
POE DAMERON looks over at REY. She floats, legs crossed, at the hangars opening. Small rocks and other objects float around her. POE DAMERON doesn't understand what REY is doing.
POE DAMERON
And she's just been doing her
floating rock thing?
BEAUMONT KIN
Incredible isn't it? Watching her
train to become a Jedi.
BB-8
Be-be-boop.
POE DAMERON
Yeah...
POE DAMERON and BB-8 head over to REY.
POE DAMERON (CONT'D)
Rey.
As POE DAMERON gets closer we see that REY is levitating the Jedi holocron she got from Batuu. Slowly, four of the eight corners begin to turn.
REY
One moment.
POE DAMERON
Really?
BB-8
Beep beep.
REY tries to focus but it's no use. The holocron locks back up again. REY lets out a sigh.
REY
Yes really. I'm taking this
seriously, and I need to focus.
POE DAMERON
Right. Do you know where Leia is?
REY
I'm not sure, but she'll be back
soon to see how I've progressed.
If you want to wait.
POE DAMERON
No, I don't have time for that. I
found someone that will sell us
five New Republic X-Wings. I'm
leaving now and wanted to know if
she wanted to come with.
CHEWBACCA yells at POE DAMERON from on top of the Millennium Falcon.
CHEWBACCA
Rawrgh roar rawr ro-rawrgh!
REY
He says instead of buying new
ships, you should help him fix
the one you damaged.
POE DAMERON
I know what he said. We damaged
it Chewy! And besides, I just fly
the ships I don't fix them!
BB-8
Beep be-boop.
POE DAMERON points to BB-8.
POE DAMERON
See, he gets it.
REY
I'll help you when I'm done with
my drills Chewy!
CHEWBACCA
Rawrgh!
POE DAMERON
See, things just solve themselves
sometimes.
POE DAMERON and BB-8 exit. REY goes back meditating.
CUT TO:
EXT. DEMRAY ABANDONED DOCKING BAY (MYRA) - DAY
POE DAMERON and BB-8 exit a public transport speeder. The public transport speeder leaves and the two face the abandoned docking bay. The abandoned docking bay is very large and circular. It has a similar design to the docking bays of Mos Eisley. The large door to the entrance is closed and covered in graffiti.
