Chapter Ten

Sivaangi woke up with a determination. She would get ready for the day, get the competition updates from the team and request Ashwin to participate. He was there when the competition updates were discussed. So, if he didn't mention anything about joining then that means he doesn't want to.

So, Sivaangi decided to request Ashwin. If he doesn't agree then she'll try to make him see how talented he is. Their team would be well armed if Ashwin joins them. Also, she can get to see him a lot even after she leaves from Coimbatore.

'Na yean avara inga irundhu pona aprm pakanum? Sivu, no! He's talented and adhu nala dhan you'll be asking him, Competition mela focus pannu!' Sivaangi told herself.

(Why do you have to meet him once you leave from here? Sivu, no! He's talented and that is why you'll be asking him. Keep focusing on the competition, Sivu)

Sivaangi greeted Dhanalakshmi with a cheerful good morning. Harish was yet to come down. So, right after finishing her breakfast, she went to Saradha's.

"Yenna aunty samaikuringa?" Sivaangi asked standing next to Saradha in the kitchen.

(What are you cooking, Aunty?)

"Thenga paal rasam kannu" Saradha said switching off the stove.

(Coconut milk rasam, dear)

"Thenga paal la rasam ah?" Sivaangi frowned.

(Coconut milk rasam dear)

"Ama, yenga ooru side special idhu. Nee taste pannadhe illaya?" Saradha asked transferring the coconut milk rasam into another vessel.

(Yes, this is our region's speciality. You have never tasted this?)

"Illaye" Sivaangi whined, "Ipo dhan ipdi oru dish iruku ne kelvi paduren"

(Never... I just learnt about the existence of such a dish)

"Apo inaiku lunch ku saptu pathu yepdi iruku nu sollu"

(Then you eat it for lunch and tell me how it is)

Sivaangi was all smile and agreed. She followed Saradha out of the kitchen, her eyes roaming around, in search of someone.

"Inaiku yenga poringa?" Saradha asked as they both sat down on the couch.

(Where are you going today?)

"Therlaye aunty. Anna ta um Ashwin ta um dhan kekanum" Sivaangi said and using the opportunity, she asked, "Ama, Ashwin yenga aunty? Avara aalaye kanom? Thoongurara?"

(I don't know aunty. I have to ask Anna and Ashwin...Where's Ashwin aunty? I can't see him around. Is he sleeping?)

"Avan football tournament ku Madurai vara poerukan da. Vara moonu naalu naal aagum"
