I sighed as I stretched out of my bed. The last couple of days have been weird. I mean, Zack and I celebrated our 1-year anniversary, and it was just... I can't even begin to say how amazing it was. I gave Zack a scrapbook of all our memories of our first year together. It's crazy how fast our junior year went by. And then it dawned on me: We would be seniors in the next couple of weeks if not a month or 2.

When I say that Zack's been acting weird, I mean that in the sense since the month started, Zack's been secretive. I tried asking Cody and Bailey about it, but neither one of them would give me an answer. Of course, since Cody and Bailey broke up, they've been doing their hardest to distance themselves from each other.

I cracked my neck before I decided to start my day and got out of bed. I got changed into a white tank top, black shorts, and a cute maroon coverall kind of shawl.

I went to open my door and balloons came falling into my room. I laughed as I shook my head. "This is totally Zack," I said as I realized what today was. It was my 17th birthday. How could I forget my own birthday?

I removed the crafting paper that was holding all of the balloons against my door. I smiled when I saw a bouquet of flowers and a note. I picked up the card and started to read it to myself, "Good morning, birthday girl! I'm sorry I couldn't be there to wish you good morning. I have the morning shift. I can't wait to surprise you and make this the best birthday for you."

I smiled as I held the lilacs close to my chest, taking a sniff of them. I looked at the bouquet, realizing I never put these flowers together. There were lilacs, lilies of the valleys, and tiger lilies. I smiled as I walked to Easy Squeezy.

I smiled when I saw Zack. He had to do a couple of takes of me, and he started smiling.

"Happy birthday, Esme!" Zack exclaimed as he held his arms out with a smile.

I blushed, never really liked being spoiled or made the center of attention. "Thank you, babe," I said as I leaned over the counter and kissed Zack. "I love the flowers," I said with a smile, "Did you put these flowers together?"

Zack rubbed the back of his neck and nodded, "I did. I told your boss that I wanted to do it, and she knew you did all the arrangements, so she showed me how to put them together and now you have it."

"I love it, Zack," I said with a smile. We stood there for a moment, just looking at each other. "So, something tells me that you're keeping something from me," I said with a chuckle.
