Six months had passed since I was reincarnated into a goblin girl, and today was the day that I made history! Today was the day that I started to crawl. Okay, it wasn't too much of a crawl; it was more like me trying to crawl and failing at it, but hey, I was trying my best. Don't make fun of me! All babies are like this! Or at least that's what I think.
It would seem that most normal goblin children my age are already walking by now. Goblins age much faster than humans. I learned from my uncle that goblins only live for around thirty years at most. My uncle was in his mid-twenties, and my mother was in her early twenties. However, when compared, they didn't look like siblings at all. In fact, father and daughter would be a more appropriate term to describe them.
"The only reason my mother looked her age was because she was half human and took more after my grandmother's side of the family. While it isn't fully known, the rest of the village believes my mother and I will live longer than most goblins. I sure hope so because I want to try to live as long as possible in this world, even though my low levels of mana are killing me.
My uncle is also half-human, but he takes more after my grandfather, which explains his appearance. My uncle explained this to me while trying to put me to sleep. He liked talking to me and didn't mind it at all; the more he talked, the more I learned.
The older goblins get, the longer their noses get, and the more warts that grow across their bodies. These seemed more true for the men rather than the women. Tully and Sola had darker green skin, black eyes, and only serval warts on their skin. Compared to my light green skin, there were no warts, and sky blue was yes. Once they get older, their ears would become longer, and their warts would disappear.
Besides, they might only get a foot taller than they are now. Goblin women are around three to four feet tall, while the men are around five at most. My father was a hobgoblin, so he was around five and a half feet tall. My mother herself was just under five feet, making her the tallest woman in the village. That woman who attacked her all those months ago was actually four feet tall.
I'm hoping that I can at least be as tall as my mother when I grow up because, in my previous life, I was just at the edge of being six feet tall. Thanks to the goddess's influence, I wondered how I would turn out.
Besides learning about the goblin lifespan, I learned something interesting and off-putting at the same time. The language I heard every goblin speaking was one only they could speak. It turns out that my father spoke a universal human language to Lilith when we met, which explained the weird feeling I had when they spoke to each other.
The goddess must have made it so I could understand human and goblin dialects. It must have been a simple matter since I was technically both. The unfortunate thing about this was that once I became aware of that, I noticed that the goblin language wasn't as "elegant" as I perceived it to be; it was missing a lot of grammar.
"S-she cute," Tully said as she and Sola watched me try to crawl, giggling as they watched me fail.
"Yes, cute, me like!" Sola said back, smiling at her.
That was just a bit of what the goblin language sounded like with a grammar filter, so if you don't mind, I'll keep doing what I have been doing.
"Come on, you can do it," Sola said, cheering me on. "We believe in you!" she yelled as I tried to put my right arm forward to move forward, but my body would currently only let me slap my hand against the ground.
"Aww, keep trying," Sola said, poking my cheeks.
"Sola, st-stop that," Tully said to her. "She doesn't l-l-like that."
"It's fine," Sola said, going to poke my cheek again. As she did, I tried to crawl again, making my hand hit hers when it got close enough.
"Look, Tully! She fought back!" Sola yelled, excited to see me accidentally hit her. I doubt that she even cringed when it happened.
