"Woah, there are so many people~!" I yelled out in excitement, looking at all the people through the window of the carriage.
Back home, I wasn't allowed out much because it was for my own safety, so seeing new places was exciting.
"Illya, please sit down. There are a few bumps up ahead. We wouldn't want you to lose your balance and hurt yourself," Auntie Sara said, holding my waist to keep me steady."
"O- wait! I want that!"
Just as I was about to sit down, I saw something that I have desperately craving for years; cotton candy!
"Illya, there is a big dinner ready for us when we get to the mansion, with a bunch of desserts. Are you sure that you want that?" grandfather asked me, trying to convince me. Earlier, he stopped me from getting a candy apple, saying that it was bad for my teeth, but this time I wouldn't let him stop me.
I've been cooped up in this carriage for hours as well, and I need to stretch my legs.
"Yes! Please, grandpa!"
"I think we should," Auntie Sara said, agreeing with me. "It would be a good excuse to let her work off some of that excess energy that she has right now. She's probably getting antsy."
"Please, grandpa! Please~!"
"Sigh, fine, but only for a little bit, and you have to hold both of our hands. I don't want you wandering off."
"Yes! Thank you grandpa, I yelled, jumping over and hugging him.
"Alright, we are taking a break here. Find a quiet place to stop."
"Yes, sir."
The carriage was pulled over in a less crowded area, but luckily there was still cotton candy being sold over there. In fact, there was cotton candy being sold all around. It was a bit strange, but who was I to question it?
"One cotton candy, please."
"Right away, sir, one of the vendors said, handing my grandfather.
"Thank you," grandfather said, holding out the cotton candy for me to take a bit, but I paused.
I felt strange the closer the cotton candy was to me. It felt similar to when I came close to items imbued with magic. But why would cotton candy have magic in it?
"Grandpa, I changed my mind. I want macaroons."
"Are you sure?" He asked, looking concerned. He must think that I'm being one of those spoiled babies right now, but I just couldn't help but feel like something would go wrong if I ate that cotton candy.
"Yes! Grandpa and Auntie Sara should eat cotton candy!"
"Sir, you shouldn't take food from your granddaughter. I'm sure that you don't want to spend more money than you have to. I'm sure that once she takes a bite, she'll love it."
Hmm? Why was the vendor insisting that I eat the cotton candy?
"Sorry, but if she's insisting, then there is no reason for me to for her. Here, you can have this back, and don't worry about paying me back."
"Sir, please..."
Grandfather didn't bother to let the man finish speaking as we made our way to get the macaroons, and I have to say that they were delicious. I ate so many that I ended up passing out for the remainder of the trip.
By the time I woke up again, it was the middle of the night, and I found myself in a gigantic bed. It was so big that I ran around on it without having to worry about falling off.
