A few days had passed since I met that strange girl, and I went back to my daily routine. The only difference was that my body felt much better. However, I don't think that I was the only one who noticed it.
"Illya, are you sure that you're alright?" Auntie Sara asked, diligently looking at me while I was eating the strawberry shortcake that she had given me.
"I'm fine! I feel great!" I happily said, eating more cake. These past few days have been great. I've never felt better since that girl removed the potion from my body.
"Are you sure?" Auntie Sara looked concerned as she talked, almost as if something wasn't right.
"Auntie?" I was confused. Was there something wrong?
"Excuse me, Miss, but the guest that you requested has arrived," a black hair maid said, walking over to us.
"Wonderful, please bring them here," Auntie Sara said, with a smile on her face, though to me it looked forced. "Illya, Auntie has a special guest coming to meet you. Please be nice and do not cause any trouble while they're here."
"Okay!" I didn't know quite what was going on, but there was no way that she would invite someone dangerous over. It was probably one of her friends. Thinking that I wasn't involved, I continued to eat my cake without caring enough to pay attention to my surroundings.
"My, my, it looks like someone is a big eater," a gentle male voice said, causing me to look up with frosting still on my face. Standing over me was a man with long blonde hair, wearing a white and gold rob. His expression was very gentle, causing me not to fear him in the slightest.
"I do assume that this is the young lady that you were talking to me about before in your letter," the man said, looking at me.
"Yes, she is," Auntie Sara said back to him. "Illya, do you remember that bracelet that I tried to give you a few days ago? The one that you said made you feel heavy?"
"Yes?" Why was she asking me about that right now? Don't tell me that she was trying to get me to wear it again. My body was finally feeling better, and I didn't want to feel weak like I did before.
"This nice man is a priest. He's going to help us figure out why the bracelet made you feel that way," Auntie Sara said, holding my hands. "Can you be a brave girl for me and let him hold your hands?"
"Do... do I have to?" I asked her, feeling a bit uncomfortable with this. The girl the other day was one thing, but the smile on this priest's face started to feel unnatural the more I looked at it.
"Don't worry, sweetie. I promise that nothing bad will happen. You're perfectly safe." I could tell that Auntie Sara wouldn't lie to me, but still, something was really giving me bad vibes about this priest.
"A-alright," I said, holding out my hands for the priest to hold. "Ugh." His hands felt cold and slimy to the touch, making me feel more uncomfortable. A small light started to emanate from his hands, and I could feel something strange moving around my body. Luckily, this feeling disappeared after he let go of my hands.
"Hmm, it's just as I feared," the priest said to my aunt. "The problem is her mana."
"What's wrong with her mana?" Auntie Sara asked, sounding concerned as she knelt down next to me.
"Her mana levels are extremely low, so much so that it is dangerous for her." The priest was right. I don't know what he did, but he was able to figure out what I had been hiding from my family. But why did it feel disgusting when he did it? The other day, when the girl with the horns found out so had low mana levels, I didn't feel anything like what I did just now.
