On the other side of the doors was a hoard of people dressed in fancy clothes. They all looked like nobles, and I could feel them staring in my direction. There was no way that I could be a princess. I was just a goblin. There was just no way.

"Lord Vst, we have arrived," Sara said elegantly, bowing to my... grandfather.

"You both look lovely~," he said to us before taking me into his arms and turning around to face the crowd.

"Duke Vst, what is the meaning of this!"

"Is that Lady Sara's daughter!"

"Who is she!"

The entire room was in an uproar because of my sudden appearance, and to be honest, I wanted answers from myself. A goblin and a princess? How was he going to explain this?

"Quiet!" he yelled, silencing everyone else in the room. Despite being one of the oldest people here, his voice carried as far as a man in his twenties. "She is my great-granddaughter and the heir to the house of Vst! You will show her your respect!"

Everyone around the room looked stunned at what they just heard, and it was hard to blame them. Suddenly, out of nowhere, he introduced me as his great-granddaughter. It was insane.

"Duke Vst, I apologize for sounding rude beforehand, but I must say that I find what you have to say hard to believe," a man as old as my grandfather said, stepping out from the crowd. "You invite us all here on the notion of it being a party, yet you fail to describe what for. And then, once we get her, you announce that the baby in your hands is none other than your great-granddaughter." He was rude by calling my grandfather out, but I couldn't deny his logic. It was weird that everyone else remained silent during this time.

"Yet the fact remains that when your only child, Illya Vst, at the age of eighteen, disappeared and has not been seen in over twenty years. How can you say that she is your great-granddaughter? It would have been more believable for you to call her your granddaughter or even Lady Sara's child."

"You doubt my words Count ....?"

"Sir, I just find it hard to believe. To have a great-granddaughter right now seems suspicious. Perhaps she is a girl that you are adopting?" Despite how his words sounded, he was right. There was no way to prove that I was actually his great-granddaughter. For all I knew, this could have been just some sort of mistake.

"Count, she is indeed my great-granddaughter. This should be more than enough proof," he said, lifting up my mother's necklace for the count to see. "This necklace belongs to my daughter and then hers, and now it belongs to her, my great-granddaughter."

"Sir, that necklace could have been stolen, nor could it have been proven to be real. Please note that this charade has gone on long enough. Please tell us the truth."

"It can. The pendant in the necklace was enchanted, only allowing those of the Vst family to wear it around their necks. If you still wish to debate her legitimacy, then please do so." My grandfather felt intimidated right now. No one in the room spoke once they heard about the necklace being enchanted. Was he telling the truth?"

"I understand, my worries were for not," the count said, retracting his statement. "Though pardon my rudeness, but does her arrival alone mean that..."

"Yes, Illya has arrived alone, but this is not a day to mourn; today is a day to celebrate, for today we have come to celebrate my lovely granddaughter's return to us and her first birthday!"

Birthday? We're they really celebration my first birthday again, because of what Sara saw last time? In my old life no one ever cared when it was my birthday. To them it was just another day and the same went for me. It was just there. No one's even gone half this far to celebrate my birthday before.
