Felix and Jisung were best friends. There were both 16 years old and lived in foster care. Their foster parents were, horrible, to put it simply. They were also extremely homophobic and it was obvious. Due to that, Jisung and Felix were scared. They were both two gay boys living in the foster home of two very homophobic people with over a dozen over kids.
They needed to escape.
That was far from simple, for sure. If they just climbed out of the window? They'd get caught. If they just ran away? They'd get caught.
They needed to grab the attention of Mr and Mrs Choi (their foster parents) so that they could get, basically, kicked out. They had seen it happen to other kids they had lived with over the years, bad behaviour that kept going for a long period of time got them on the streets. Jisung and Felix were nearly adults and they knew they'd be safer out there than inside the house they were in.
Felix and Jisung decided to pretend to be boyfriends, acting touchy and flirty with eachother and just dropping hints. They had been doing that for 3 months, until they finally noticed Mr and Mrs Choi catching on and getting annoyed by their antics. The plan was working. But not well enough.
"Morning Felix." Jisung smiled, after stretching and sitting in a cross-legged position on his bed. He looked over at the freckled boy on the bed opposite him, he was still asleep. "Felix?" Jisung got up and crouched down beside Felix's bed, checking up at the open door every few moments. They were forced to keep the doors wide open. "Lix? It's time to wake up."
"Hm?" Felix slowly opened his eyes to look at the other boy, "Oh, good morning Ji!" The smile on Felix's face was enough to make Jisung's day before it even began. Being Felix's best friend was the best thing to ever happen to him.
"How'd you sleep?" Jisung asked, with a small smile as he moved to sit himself down cross-legged in front of Felix (who mimicked Jisung's position once he became fully awake).
"Okay, I guess?" Felix chuckled lightly, not really remembering how he slept. I guess that means he slept well, right?
"That's good!" Jisung gently took Felix's hands into his, a habit they had since they starting to 'fake date'.
"Yeah, how 'bout you?" Felix stroked Jisung's hand with his thumb softly, back and forth, back and forth.
"I dunno, probably." The elder (by literally less than one day) replied, before moving on to something important. "Hey, so Lix..."
"Yeah? Is something wrong?" Felix spoke, lowering his volume automatically as he figured the conversation topic was one to be kept secret.
"So, it's kind of obvious this plan isn't working well enough..." Jisung whispered and when Felix nodded for him to continue, he did so. "I think we need to try something new, that'll definitely work."
"Like what?" Felix asked, nervous at what the other boy was about to tell him. He anxiously fiddled with Jisung's hands in his.
"I think... that when they call everyone downstairs for lunch, we should stay up here. We should wait until we hear their footsteps to come get us and..." Jisung hesitated, "Kiss. They'll see us and we'll be free."
"Ji, are you sure? I don't wanna mess up our friendshi-"
"You are the last person I have, I'm the last person you have, nothing is going to go wrong." Jisung assured his best friend, before they stood up and headed downstairs for breakfast.
