WHAT'S OUR DUTIES?

The next morning Marley, Luke, Ben, and Mal meet with Beast, Belle, and Fairy Godmother.

"I think we all  know why we're here." Beast starts, "The people are in a panic about Hades. He almost got out."

"Who knows what he would've done if he had escaped." Fairy Godmother adds.

"We can't risk another villain on the loose." Beast finishes.

"I really feel like this is our fault. We're suppose to protect Auradon." Marley says sadly as shee cuddles into Luke's side as he kisses her head, Mal nodding in agreement.

"You guys did. You guys do protect Auradon." Ben tells the sisters.

"Ben is right Cara Mia, Mal. You guys did all you could." Luke adds.

"Every time we open the barrier, we're exposed to danger. Maleficent, Uma, Hades." Beast explains before Ben and Luke's phones go off.

"Maleficent's scepter has been stolen." Ben says after checking his phone.

Luke sighs as he reads the message, "Along with the Queen's crown." Belle and Fairy Godmother let out gasps of shock.

"Uma?" Beast accuses.

"We don't know that Dad." Ben argues.

"When the people hear this, they will never wanna leave their houses. What do we tell them?" Belle asks before looking at the sisters, "Mal, Marley? What do we do? How do we keep evil out of Auradon?"

Marley and Mal share sad looks, before Marley sighs, "I think that there's only one way to guarantee their safety. And I think that there....." Tears start to fill Marley's eyes and she shakes her head unable to continue her thought as she knew what it meant for her best friends and all those other kids on the Isle.

"There can't be anymore going in and out. I think that we have to close the barrier....forever." Mal finishes with tears in her eyes, as she grabs Marley's hand knowing how she must be feeling right now.

"No." Ben and Luke say, Luke knows how much Marley wants Harry here with her.

"Sons." Beast tries.

"No." The brothers say again as they turn around.

"Ben/Luke." The sisters call out as they walk away.

"No, no, no, no." Ben says as Marley and Mal follow after him and Luke.

"Ben, Luke. Hey." Mal says as she gets them to stop, "We don't like this at all. How do you think Marley feels about this, she's going to lose Harry." Marley lets out a small sob as it hits her she will never see her best friend again, Luke is quick to pull her into his and whisper smoothing words in her ear while kissing her head.

"And I don't wanna take your guys dream away. Because it was so beautiful. And it's why I fell in with you and one of the reasons Marley fell in love with Luke. But what are our duties as King, Queen, Royal Advisor/Prince, and Princess?" Mal asks.

"To protect Auradon." The three say sadly.

"But do you know what this would mean? All those kids? Marley never being able to see her best friend?" Ben looks at his future sister-in-law who's lightly crying in his brothers arms, "Are you guys prepared for that?"

Mal sighs sadly, looking at her little sister, it breaks her heart to see her like this, but she knows Marley understands this is what needs to be done, "We know what it means and no, I'm not prepared for it. I would love for Harry to be here with Marley. We both just think we have no other choice."
