MAL'S TRUTH

Ben leads the way to Fairy Cottage. The group bust inside but see Audrey anywhere. Jay quickly heads upstairs to check.

"She's not upstairs." Jay says as he comes back down. There then was a banging on the door beside Ben, Luke holds Marley to him while she grabs Jasper's hand and pulls him to her side.

"Chad?" Ben asks as he opens the door to reveal the blonde prince.

"I want my mommy." Chad says before Ben goes to help him up, "No."

"It's okay." Ben tells him as he helps him up, "What happened, buddy?" Chad looks around at everyone scared.

"Ben. Ben!" Chad says as he recognizes Ben, "Your face. She's gone? Huh? The door is open. I'm free. Freedom! Oh! Freedom!" Chad takes off running out the door causing Harry and Jasper to laugh, while Marley giggles into Luke's chest and Luke hides his smile into Marley's hair.

"Ooh. Alright. Let's get this Audrey chick taken care of already. What do you say, girls? Time to wrap things up?" Uma says as they all walk outside causing Mal to laugh before they fist bump.

"You know someday, you're gonna have to tell me how you guys all got teamed up," Ben says as he wraps an arm around Mal's shoulders.

"Actually, Mal promised to let all the kids off the Isle once this is over." Evie tells Ben who looks surprised before looking at his brother and sister-in-law who just shrug their shoulders and nod.

"Mal?" Ben asks confused,

"I have to tell you guys something. Um..." Mal says as she turns to face everyone, "I lied to you. The kids won't be coming off the Isle."

"What do you mean?" Evie asks confused.

"The program is shut down. And the barrier will be closed for good." Mal says.

"For Auradon's safety." Ben tells them softly.

Evie spins to look at Marley, "Mars? Please tell me you didn't know,"

Marley sighs sadly as Luke holds her closer to him, Jasper grabs her hand giving it a squeeze while Harry places his hand on her shoulder. Uma raises her eyebrow, but it doesn't really shock her that Marley seemed to have already told Harry, "At first Luke and I were onboard cause it was what needed to be done, rather I wanted it to happen on not. Do you really think I wanted to never see my best friend again, or Jasper to never see his mom again?" Harry rubbed her shoulder as Jasper squeezed her hand again as tears filled Marley's eyes, "Luke and I already told Harry and Jasper as it was killing me not telling them, and I wanted to tell you guys Luke and I have been looking into ways that would allow the barrier to stay open but I didn't want to get your hopes up in case we couldn't find anything." Marley pulls away from Jasper and Harry to bury herself into Luke's chest and cries softly, Luke rubs her back and gently kisses the side of her head.

Evie with tears in her eyes watches her best friend crumble and knows she's telling the truth, same goes for Carlos, Jay, and Uma. They  understand how hard this choice had to be on her.

Then Uma remembers what Mal had said, "Hold up. So we're saving your precious people and your behinds for a lie." She walks over to Mal and shakes her head, "I knew it was a mistake to trust you. You're always looking out for yourself, at least Marley was honest and was trying to figure out a way to keep the barrier open even if she agreed in the beginning to close it." 

"And you, King Ben aye.....you're probably just gonna throw us all back inside." Harry says sadly as he walks over to Ben, "And I'll never get to see Sunshine again." He whispers with tears in his eyes as he looks back at his best friends who is still crying in her fiancee's arms.
