I took a seat at the dinner table and instantly grabbed my glass of water, drinking about half of it. Jeremiah elbowed my side. "Easy man. Dehydrated for some reason?" He said, raising his eyebrows in a teasing manner. Jeremiah was the only one in this household that knew I have been spending time with Elena before dinners at the beach surfing.

I rolled my eyes at him in a dramatic way. I knew what he was insinuating had happened between me and Elena even though he knows we only surf.

Sure there has been a lot more teasing and flirting these last couple days that neither of us really know how to handle it without reacting in an awkward way to one another. Elena gets all shy when I flirt with her and I get instantly stiff whenever she touches me in a way. It's not because I don't like her touching me, it's the complete opposite. I crave her touch. And I'm scared I won't be able to stop myself if allow her touch.

But, the best part of today was that Elena was finally able to ride the wave. The look of fear she had previously before standing on the board was gone today. It was all confidence and determination. That's the girl I knew.

After she rode the wave, she ran to me with such excitement that I engulfed her into a huge hug spinning us around. I was so tempted to kiss her-

"Conrad, yo dude," I finally heard Steven as I looked up, noticing everyone was staring at me.

"Yeah, sorry. I must have dozed off for a second. I'm a little tired," I said, stealing a quick glance at my mom seeing the look of concern on her face.

Steven raised an eyebrow and said, "by the way, where have you been at before dinners these last couple days? I haven't seen you around the house. I've been wanting to play some Call of Duty."

Thankfully, Jeremiah came in with a distraction before I had to answer. "Steven, you going out with Shayla tonight?" Jeremiah asked.

Steven laughed and looked right at me as he said, "nah, she told me she's sleeping over at El's tonight."

I furrowed my eyebrows confused. Elena didn't mention that while we were together earlier. My text tone vibrated in my pant pocket as I pulled out my phone seeing a text from Sebastian.

Sebastian: Elena is staying the night at Shayla's and she forgot her phone. Do you know Shayla's address so I can drop it off to her?

My body tensed. Steven just said Shayla was spending the night at Elena's. Someone was lying and I was going to find out why.

Conrad: I'm heading out that way. I'll swing by and take her phone.

I abruptly slammed my hand on the table standing up. Once again, everyone turned to look at me and my eyes widened.

"Connie..," my mom began.

I awkwardly rubbed the back at my neck and turned to look down at Jeremiah. "Jere, um, I need you to help me with something I forgot in my room."

"Why? Can't you just do it yourself? I'm not done with my food," he said, pouting.

I gave Jeremiah a little nodded trying to get him to understand what I was trying to say without actually saying it. Jeremiah just stared up at me confused. I sighed. I guess we don't share that same telepathic communication like the twins.

I reached over grabbing Jeremiah by the front of his polo pulling him up and out of his seat. He trips forward, almost knocking into the table as Jermeiah barely regains his balance. I began running up the stairs to my room knowing Jeremiah would follow.
