Oh great. Then there's this guy. Obviously when I planned this date with Jeremiah we figured Elena and I would run into Victor. I've met him a couple times three years ago when I would come with the Medina's a lot and he was always annoyingly flirty with Elena. But, my main thing for tonight was filling Elena around with as much comfort and familiarity as possible. A part of me knew she was going to be nervous tonight and she wasn't the only one.

I didn't even have time to be jealous at the moment because my mind was still trying to process everything Elena said to me. I would have never known this girl held so much burden and weight on her shoulders. I guess we're not so different after all. We prefer to hold onto the burden ourselves and try to shield everyone else from it.

"Hey Fisher, did you hear me?" Elena said.

Fuck. I didn't. But before I could answer, Victor said, "damn, I just noticed you guys don't even have chips and salsa. Bethany, I swear. She spends more time flirting with the customers than doing her job." He quickly finished writing on his notepad and proceeded to stuff it in his front apron pocket that hung around his waist. "I'm sorry guys, I got your orders and I'll be back with the chips and salsa."

My interest peaked as I turned to Elena, raising an eyebrow. "You ordered from me?"

Elena shrugged her shoulders and crossed her arms against her chest. She seemed pissed and I'm confused as to why. "Yeah, you were too busy staring at Bethany over there to bother ordering," she said, rolling her eyes.

Who is Bethany? I turned in the direction she motioned. I didn't even notice. I now saw the hostess standing at the bar texting. From my view now, she would have been behind Victor during this whole made up scenario that Elena is currently brewing up in her head at the moment. Wait was she- I tried to be sly but I couldn't stop from the giant grin forming on my face. She was jealous.

"Wipe that grin off your stupid face right now, Fisher," Elena said.

"Are you jealous, Medina?" I teased leaning forward against the table.

"As if," she rolled her eyes, again.

She was and I don't know why but that made me feel all giddy inside. "Well I think it's cute that you're jealous."

She huffed and scrunched up her nose in disgust in the cutest way. "I'm not jealous."

"Damn, I didn't know you were obsessed with me already," I teased.

"Did you get new cologne?" She suddenly said, catching me off guard. "I don't like it on you."

"What?" I said surprised. "But you told Jere you liked it?" Before our date, Jeremiah came into my room saying I had to smell good and the cologne he wears, Elena had once mentioned she liked it. So I decided to listen to Jeremiah and put some on.

"On him," she emphasized and I frowned. "But it's not you. I like how you smell."

I looked away trying to shield her from seeing me because I knew damn well my cheeks were bright red. It was just a body wash I started buying as a teen because Elena told Daniel that body wash smelled better than the one he was looking to buy when I went to the store with them. I didn't think years later, she would still like the scent.

Victor reappeared with our food. Elena had a carne asada burrito with rice and beans and I had the same. "Hey Elena, I ended up getting a bike. I wanted to show you last year," Victor said as I took a large bite from my burrito.

I resisted rolling my eyes back with how good the burrito tasted. I haven't had their food for two years and I forgot how much I loved it. Nothing compared to the Medina's food but this was a close second. I saw Elena's face light up and I got confused as to why she was so excited about a bicycle. "Bike?" I grumbled as I finished swallowing the large bite.
