"Okay stay right there, please. Don't move," Max said as I just stood in my kitchen absentmindedly. He placed his hands on my shoulders gently and turned me slightly to the left. A small amount of sun light from outside creeped in from the kitchen window behind the curtain and onto my face. Slowly, he tilted my head to the left and backed away.

I stayed in place now realizing what he was doing and finally, I heard the click of a photo being taken. "Perfect," he said walking back towards me typing away on his phone. My text tone was heard shortly after. "This is your next Instagram post. You can thank me in the caption."

I reached for my phone on the counter as Max began collecting his sketchbook and putting it away in his backpack. "Wait," I called out. "Don't forget the party tonight. Jere is picking us up here."

Max nodded, rolling his eyes as he made his way towards the kitchen entrance. "Yes, E. Unfortunately, I will be back later because I know you two will hunt me down if I'm not. I'll lock the door on my way out."

I laughed as he walked out waving and I opened my text messages. When I opened up the image, I gasped. Max was so talented artistically. He knew how to capture me perfectly within a photo. I almost didn't recognize myself. It made me a little jealous wishing I had a talent for things like he did. He never let me look in his sketchbook but he has shown me a few of his drawings that he had scattered around and they were amazing. His photography skills were no different.

Quickly posting it on instagram, I set my phone back on the counter and started gathering a bowl and supplies to make some cookies. Daniel has been bugging me and my mom to make some galletas de canela. Since I had a couple hours before Jeremiah was going to pick us up, I figured I could spend it baking to clear my head.

I wiped my hand against my cheek and groaned in irritation. Daniel had left the back down open earlier and some flies came inside. This one in particular has been pestering me the whole time I've been baking.

I sigh and grab one of the cookies taking a small bite. I groaned. Delicious. I felt the cinnamon sugar stick to my lipstick. I was about to grab a napkin to wipe my mouth when I heard the oven beep. I turned, bending over, opening the oven door to check the remainder of cookies that were baking.

"Now that's a view I could get used to," I heard as I quickly jumped up not expecting anyone. Conrad was standing near the kitchen entrance leaning against the open doorway with his arms crossed against his chest.

I felt my cheeks heat up slightly. It felt warm in the kitchen all of sudden. I blame the oven.

"Too bad you'll only ever get to admire it from afar, Fisher," I winked at him. No way was I going to let him get me flustered and not throw it back at him. That was a bold thing for him to say to me considering he literally flew across the kitchen earlier this morning when his chest was pressed against my back and his hand- nope, I don't need those thoughts in my head at the moment.

A small tint of red arose on Conrad's cheeks and I smirked. "How did you get inside?" I questioned. My mom wasn't home and Daniel was with dad somewhere. So it was just me here after Max left and he always locks the door when he leaves.

"Your dad gave me a key," Conrad said nonchalantly.

I raised an eyebrow at him. "Are you serious?"

Conrad stopped leaning against the doorway and walked into the kitchen towards me. "Yeah. He knew we'll be meeting up early throughout the summer for the sailboat so he didn't want the princess to be awakened by the sound of the doorbell," he said.
