Conrad"Wait, give me a sec. Let me catch my breath," I panted. I've never felt more embarrassed in my life. The combination of smoking, drinking and no exercise made me look very pathetic at the moment as I wiped some drops of sweat from my forehead with the back of my hand.
Sebastian's laugh echoed through the empty neighborhood as he stopped and walked back towards me. I leaned forward resting my hands against my knees taking in deep breaths. I should have never agreed to this run. Especially this early, the sun hadn't even risen yet.
"You used to run and keep up with Dañel y yo all the time, que paso?" He teased me.
I scoffed trying to resist a smile. "Quitting football, that's what happened," I said, giving a short safe answer. The last thing I want to do is discuss my bad habits and my mom's health before the sunrise. "Want to watch the baseball game tonight?" Baseball or football was always a safe subject with Sebastian.
"Can't tonight, kiddo. It's Max's art show," he said as if I should have known. We began walking up the slope. "I am arriving a little later than Eléna, though, so I'll see you two there."
My interest peaked. Elena never texted me back last night after I asked what she was up to, even though I already knew she was hanging out with Max. I figured since she hung out with him last night, tonight would be my night.
I scrunched up my nose in displeasure as we made it back in between our driveways. Max was slowly becoming my least favorite person. Sebastian lightly smacked my chest regaining my attention as he just ran off into his beach house insinuating our run was over. I let out a chuckle and walked towards my beach house.

I wrapped a towel around my waist and swung the bathroom door open. The steam from my shower filled the hallways as I lowered my head to make sure my towel was tightly wrapped around my torso since it was the only clothing I had on. I forgot to bring some clothes into the shower with me and since the bathroom was right next to my room I didn't see an issue with it- until I heard a sweet female gasp.
I abruptly lifted my head up and caught eyes with the same big brown ones that have haunted my dreams every night. My eyes widen as I glance behind her, catching Jeremiah smirking from his doorway. "Elena? Were you coming out of Jere's room just now?"
I waited for an answer from her, as I kept staring at my brother who held his hands up in surrender. I try to remind myself again, that he would never do something to betray me but my patience sure is running thin when I keep finding them in situations like these. I returned my gaze to the feisty girl who has slowly started to become my obsession and I bit my lip trying to resist a smirk.
No instant witty remark caught me off guard at first and now I know why. Elena's eyes were heavily eyeing my bare chest. "Enjoying the view?" I teased.
I watched as Elena's eyes immediately widened and came back from whatever indecent thoughts, I'm assuming, she was having. The eye roll followed almost immediately after. "As if, Fisher. Jeremiah, it's always a pleasure," she said, walking away.
"Wait," I called out as I inched forward to follow after her down the stairs and suddenly I stopped. I couldn't chase after her, I almost forgot I was still only in a towel. But that look of hunger and desire in her eyes that I witnessed, even if it was for a few seconds, sparked a heat inside of me. One that has been getting harder to ignore. I don't know how much longer I can control myself.
I lost control for a quick second yesterday in the kitchen and if it weren't for that sweet moan of hers bringing me back to reality, I would have lost all control.
