Leila flew to Ozan's side, who was standing at the pier's entrance, and parked themselves not only to give Can and Sanem some privacy but also to keep an eye out, making sure no one would be coming.
That memory still hurts
They both think as they both just remembered their last time together.
Still being a few feet apart from each other, and slowly started to walk towards one another, and after a few guaranteed steps, one foot in front of the other, they finally reached each other. Standing just inches away.
"Hi." His voice was raspy, as if he hadn't spoken in years. Seeing her and talking to her was his biggest dream, and now, that dream had just come true.
"Hi," she responded softly, slightly more secure than him. This brought a smile to his lips.
"You look good." She blushed slightly, but it was enough for Can to notice it through her pale face, and this warmed up his heart.
"Thank you," she softly responded. You look good, too." He gave her a ghosted smirk. He didn't want to take her eyes from hers, but he needed to. His eyes were mesmerized by the beauty standing in front of him. He couldn't understand how beautiful she had gotten, and as he was observing her face, he noticed something on her neck.
It can't be, he thought, surprised when he saw the necklace hanging from her neck—the necklace she had promised him she was never going to take off.
Sanem saw his surprise and smiled, knowing exactly what was going through his mind. "I made a promise," she said. He brought his eyes to hers. "A promise is a promise," she said, and he nodded softly, agreeing with her but forcing his now paralyzed body to smile. He was so happy to see the necklace hanging on her neck that he couldn't believe it.
"May I?" he finally said, and she responded with a gentle nod.
He took one step towards her, making their hearts beat faster and faster than ever before—faster than light. Can finished, taking the three steps that were in between them, and stood there, a few inches away.
Breath Sanem, don't forget to Breath
Breath Can, don't forget to breath
They both thought as they were staring into each other's eyes.
A few seconds later, he finally gets enough courage and gently touches the necklace with his shaky hand. With a few fingers, he gently pulls it out, bringing the ring out from its hiding spot in the middle of her chest, and holds it with two fingers.
"You still have it with you." He whispered and looked at her proudly.
"I never took it off," she assured him,
"I can see that." He whispers gently and proudly, and they both smile gently at each other.
'Miss that smile.' They both thought in joint. He let go of her ring, making it land in the middle of her breasts. Then she smiled brightly. And he knew why she was smiling. He didn't have to read her mind to see the answer in her eyes. She reached for his right pocket and slowly took it out: the bandana.
"I promise I was always going to have it with me," he whispered, and she smiled, knowing that was true. "So, what's new with you?" she softly asked, and they both started to walk towards the end of the pier as she still the bandana in her hands. She knew why he didn't ask for her to give it back; her scent was gone, and she needed to cover with it again. She proudly and tightly held it in her hand as they walked.
"Not much," he responded without any feelings, not wanting to let her know about his miserable life. But there has to be something." She was intrigued
inquired to know if there was someone else in his life.
