"Are you all alright?" Ozan's father asked, his voice trembling with concern as he saw them standing frozen, their hearts racing and their breaths shallow.
"I am." Ozan quickly responded.
"Me too." Everyone else responded.
"Then relax," Nihat calmly spoke.
They all took a soft but deep breath and relaxed enough, but not enough. "Ok. Look. None of you are in trouble." Aziz said.
"Then why are we here?" Sanem asked, looking at the room and the big wooden door. "What is this place?"
"This is where we all meet when we need to talk and don't want anyone to hear. That's why the door is thick. That is not a wooden door; that is a metal door, and had a wood cover." Aziz explained, "And because out of everyone, you 6 are the ones we trust most."
"Excuse me?" Everyone asked in joint.
Then, there was a knock at the door. The secretary opened the door. "Everyone is gone; doors are locked," Mevkibe said, as she was the first one to walk in. The rest of the wives were right behind her and sat on a few sofas and empty chairs in the big office.
"Thank you. Darling." Nihat said. "Thank you." the other elders said.
"As I was saying," Aziz continued. "It doesn't mean we don't trust anyone; it just means we know you very, very well, and we know you all can keep secrets, and we know you are all very observant."
What does that mean... they all thought, getting scared and trying to understand if their parents knew about their secrets.
"Excuse me?" Sanem asked.
"What we are about to say, it is confidential." An elder from the west said.
"This makes no sense. Out of everyone, absolutely everyone, it's just us 6?" Can asked, not believing what he was hearing.
"Yes, and no. We also trust others, and they are helping, but we need more hands."
"Well, 6 of us are going to do much." Can said.
"Look. I understand this is confusing. And what you are all about to find out is crazy, but yes, six of you is more than what we need."
Everyone brought looked at the elders and their wives in confusion.
"Can, my son. Because of what you are about to find out is one of the reasons I said what I said for you to come."
"What do you mean?"
"I needed you to come?" Aziz was honest with his son.
"And you lie to me." Aziz nodded. "I needed you here."
"And you?" Ozan asked his father?" and he nodded, too. "So, it's all a lie?" Both Aziz and Engin nodded. Can and Ozan looked at each other and smiled, feeling happy that their plan of rejecting the thrown not going to happen anymore. As much as they were miserable, they never really wanted to die.
"Why are you both smiling?"Nihat asked.
"No reason. We're thank you that it's not true," Can said, smiling softly at the elders but widely inside.
Sanem looked at Can. I don't like this, she thought.
"Ok. Well, let's get back to what we were saying. This is not easy, but we don't have a choice. Each city worldwide is gathering 6 vampires they trust most and know that will be silent to the cause."
"The cause?"
"Yes," Nihat said.
"Something is going on, and we need your help," Aziz explained. For generations, we have never had any issues with humans. It's always been the slayers." They all nodded.
