Chapter Twenty Five

Back at the hotel, I was sitting in my room just thinking about the next step of my plan. Val already knows that I am taking his magic. I don't know what I will do, I wish I would have thought about this before I started this mission.

It was nearly midnight, I had kept myself awake overthinking. I put on my shoes and walked out of my room. I half expected Angel to be standing outside his room, but he wasn't. I didn't think anything of it as I proceeded to leave the hotel. "I should practice controlling Val's magic," I whispered to myself.

I walked down the sidewalk until I reached the cemetery. I passed through the bushes and walked into the field. That was when I saw a glow in the center of the field, someone else was using magic. I looked at the demon until the glow revealed their face, it was Angel.

"Hey Angel!" I called, walking over to him.

"Hey (y/n), this magic is so cool," Angel continued.

"I wasn't expecting you to be out here," I stated.

"I wanted to try out these powers that you have been talking about," Angel responded.

"I came out here to learn to control Val's magic, I'm wondering how powerful it really is," I replied.

I took a deep breath and let Val's magic flow from my hand. I moved my hand slowly, seeing how much control I had over this power. To my surprise the magic followed my command, I was expecting it to be hard to control. Why was it so easy? This is way too good to be true.

"Do ya think I can try?" Angel asked.

"Seems fine..." I responded. I sent a small amount of magic toward Angel. He instantly took control of it, "This is a little too easy," Angel agreed as he controlled the shape of Val's magic.

"I wonder...", I whisper to myself as I try to create wings out of Val's magic. The wings stuck to my back, but they did not become whole. Instead, it looked like I had vibrant pinkish red wings made of smoke. The wings do not flap; they just sit there giving me the ability I was about to try. I slowly float up into the sky. "Wow!" I gasped. "This is too cool!"

I flew over to Angel, "I feel so tall right now!" I laughed. I reach a hand down to Angel, "Come on, let's fly!"

Angel takes my hand and I fly higher into the sky. Reaching higher than the tops of the trees. We fly around pentagram city, looking at all the buildings from above. Flying throughout the city at night was ALMOST a peaceful feeling. It was quiet, and there were no demons trying to kill each other. It was even a LITTLE cooler out at night. While we were flying I made Angel some wings as well. I loosen my grip on Angel's hand letting him have a chance to fly. IT was just then that Angel noticed that I gave him some wings. He let go of my hand. I flew up and made eye contact with Angel.

Angel took my hands in his. "I'm so glad ya trust me to know your goals and who ya really are," Angel said.

"I'm just so happy that you understand and you won't try to stop me," I sigh as I pull Angel closer and hug him.

We fly back down to the field letting our wings disappear when we land. We watch as the magic flows back into our necklaces. "We should head back to the hotel before it gets too late," I sighed.
