NO ONE POV

Today was the day of the auction. Everyone stood up early today to get ready including Anisa.

She tried her best to do her hair and makeup even though she didn't feel like it. She was scared that all her efforts would end up with nothing. But she promised Thalia that she would do her best and attend the auction.

Anisa had decided to give her hair a silk press the night before. She styled her hair into soft curls and put on some light makeup which enchanted her beauty. Wearing a simple white knee-length off-shoulder dress that hugged her figure.

Giving herself a final look in the mirror. She quickly stood up as she saw the time on her alarm clock. She put on her nude sandals and grabbed her notepad and pen. With that, she left her room and made her way toward the main hall where everyone was gathered.

Mason, Thalia, and Blake stood in front of everyone waiting to start with preparations. As Mason spotted Anisa he gave her a smile which she returned.

"All right I can see that everyone is here let's go over the program before we start ladies," Mason said Ashe held a piece of paper in front of him.

"For some of you, it is the first time to participate, and for some of you, it's not. Let me tell you, girls, what's expected from you. You can take place at a table and a husband candidate will sit down with you to have a speed date this will go on for about an hour," he said.

"We handed out your profiles to the husband candidates so they could read your resume. The rest is all up to you girls to win over the hearts of the men, some of you may not get picked today but don't be discouraged by that there's always a next time," Mason continued saying.

"Today is a special day because we have officially gotten a new record of registrations there are about thirty-five husband candidates here today. So I hope with my fingers crossed that all twenty of you will find someone today," he said

All the girls commerced with excitement amongst each other.

"Today we also have three very special candidates, Kneo Knight general Kato, famous athlete Zion Davis, and the young master of the Jones family, so please be on your best behavior and show them what our auction house has to offer," Mason said.

The girls started squealing when they heard their names. Anisa frowned feeling anxious after hearing the three big names.

"That was all for briefing today, during the speed dates my wife and her crew will serve you small beverages and appetizers, good luck," Mason said

"Ladies please follow me," Blake said as he led us toward the room where the speed dates would be held.

After sitting at our assigned tables it didn't take long before the first round started.

ELIJAH POV

As I was sitting inside on the way to the auction house Bryson and Cameron didn't stop talking my ear off.

"Be nice and come off as approachable, women love a gentle aura," Bryson said.

"And please talk don't mess it up like last time," Cameron added.

I signed and looked at the two of them completely irritated.

"Do you guys ever shut up,"

"No," the two of them said at the same time which made them laugh and high-five each other.

I shook my head at their childish behavior.

"You guys are so childish makes me wonder how the two of you even have a wife," I said

"Euhm excuse me Mr grumpy all the time my beautiful wife loves me for me," Cameron said offended, and turned his head to the side with a hmph.

Bryson ignored my comment.

"Masami we want you to be happy and have someone that makes you happy, you know we cannot always be there now that we are married. I know you're an amazing guy but please just please open up a little during those speed dates and stop scaring the women away," Bryson said

Whenever the two of them used my Japanese name it meant they were serious. The three of us have been best friends for as long as I can remember. The two of them were them were the only ones who stuck beside me as everyone else felt intimidated by me.

Bryson and I worked as military officials and as Neo Knight soldiers, while Cameron worked as a government official. The two of them had gotten married we hung out less and I worked more hours to keep myself occupied. Both of my friends thought it was unhealthy and said it was a way for me to cope with loneliness.

So they pushed me into getting married even my superior at work went along with the idea. At first, I didn't think it was a bad idea until all the women I met were either too scared of me or weren't genuinely interested in me as a person but my status.

This went along for two months. Bryson and Cameron accompanied me to every auction. The two tried to keep a positive attitude to distract me from feeling disappointed.

Today was one of our last options if this wouldn't turn out to be successful I would take a small break from looking for a wife.

"I know I'll try my best, but I won't fake it if I feel that someone isn't genuinely trying to get to know me," I said reminding the two.

The two agreed, and the rest of the trip was spent in silence. Soon we arrived at our destination and stepped out of the car.

"You got this brother I have a good feeling about this," Cameron said while squeezing my shoulder

"Remember positive energy," Bryson reminded me.

The three of us walked into the building.

ANISA POV

everyone I've talked to so far immediately lost interest after they found out I was mute and used sign language.

One man even made it clear to me that he didn't want a disabled wife. I felt discouraged and gave up.

The only man who had a genuine conversation with me was Zion Davis. He was very nice and respectful he didn't make me feel like I was less of a person than him. But I doubt he will choose me many beautiful and capable women are a better option than me.

"The last round is about to start get ready everyone," I heard Blake say

I put on the best smile I could muster up and prepared myself for another disappointment.

As I was preparing my notepad I heard someone sit down in front of me. Looking up I see the most handsome man I have ever seen completely lost in my thoughts I forget to talk.

"Euhm hello," I heard his deep voice say, looking at me with his eyebrows furrowed.

Completely embarrassed I clear my throat.

"I'm sorry I hope I didn't come off rude, my name is Anisa," I frantically signed

He stared at me in surprise. I mentally slapped my forehead as I grabbed my notepad to write down what I just said but to my surprise, he answered me back in sign language.

"My name is Elijah Nice to meet you, Anisa,"

I looked up at him in awe, he smiled a little at my reaction.

"Cute," I heated him mumbled

"How do you know sign language," I asked him

"There was one rescue mission where I met a young girl who could only communicate through sign language and I felt horrible that my team and I couldn't understand her so I vowed to learn it to be able to help everyone, I also made sure that my fellow peers and juniors got to learn it so no ever feels excluded when help is needed," he said.

"That's wonderful," I said with a bright smile, with that the two of us talked about anything that came to our mind until Blake announced it was time for the official auction.

"It was nice meeting you, Anisa," he said while giving me a warm smile.

I couldn't help but blush, deep down I hoped he would choose me.
