"C'mon, we're about to be late!" Adriana rushed back into our room, standing in the doorway as I scoffed at her.
"Tell me a time when you actually cared about that." I continued to focus on placing my lashes correctly, knowing that if they'd be sticking to close to my upper waterline, they'd itch all night and I'd take them off halfway through.
"Anyways. What do you think of the satin gloves?" Knowing that I had been right with my remark, she was quick to change the subject, shoving the long gloves into my view, the material shining from the dim main light in our dorm room. I couldn't lie, I loved the dark green on her, fitting perfectly to her dark blue eyes and her ginger hair, so I nodded in approval while I held the lash glue in my hand while the other was struggling to pinch natural and fake lashes together.
"They're perfect, where did you find them?" Leaning forward to get a closer look on my eye makeup and thanking my vanity light, she looked at herself in the mirror, leaving me more room to finish up.
"Grannie thought I should take a look up in the attic." I heard a slight giggle in her voice, as Adriana twirled around one too many times.
"I truly love your Grandmother Adri," I muttered, spraying setting spray all over my face while she picked up a perfume bottle from the shelf behind me.
With one glove one, my best friend started drenching me in the scent of Coco Mademoiselle from Chanel, an old gift. A classy, yet beautiful scent that could never grow old, even though I heard enough comments from Adriana about switching it up once at least. I never even smelled it on me myself, but knowing that it was there was enough.
"Careful, don't get too close to my hair," I warned her as she rolled her eyes, setting the bottle down on the shelf and putting on the other glove.
" I would never," Leaning down on the chair, I put on my heels and there was a slight second where I would've even said that I'd missed them. "Do you think there are any potential boyfriends out there tonight?"
"You're saying that like you'd actually allow them to talk to you."

"We're here, Madam." Adriana's personal driver woke me up from my trance after looking at all of the city lights up in the sky, my eyes now watching her while she confirmed the payment on her phone.
Before I took a breath and gathered myself, he already stood at my side, the door widely opened for me to exit the car, a polite, tired smile on his face.
I had always liked Mr. Graham. His smile lines only showed a bit of his happy personality, as if he had everything in life, as if he had finally reached his goal even though it was only being a personal driver. Of course, he was this for one of the richest families in New York, but nonetheless, it would've drained my soul after a while.
Standing up and getting out of the car as gracefully as I could in these new shoes, a slight breeze hit my face, trying to mess up the framing layers of my haircut that I had secured with as much hairspray as possible before leaving the room. There would be nothing to ruin the way I looked tonight, I had made sure of it.
The sound of the door shutting behind me appeared right after I heard Adriana thank him for driving us on such a short notice, probably explaining why she had given him a tip tonight.
I couldn't stop looking at my best friend, something I wasn't scared to admit. She was skinny, skinny enough for her back to be looking absolutely perfect in that backless dress, only a string keeping it together, just above her ass. The slit of the floor length gown showed her legs that she had been tanning as soon as winter was over, and it would be an eye catcher for any gaze.
