The moment I decided to stop my short, problematic night that had been filled with waking up and taking too long to fall asleep again, I missed something. I missed a lot. I missed Adriana. I missed the familiar smell of my room and how I would wake up early to catch the first sun light while I went to the gym.

I was only thankful for managing to fully wash off all my makeup before I drifted asleep. The first time had been nice, but the aching of my body started to fill me with the desire of suicide. The cuts and bruises were deeper than ever before and it surprised me how I had managed to ignore the pain all throughout yesterday.

Was it a new day? Was the night still keeping me captured? I could not bare this anymore.

The light peeking from under the curtains answered my questions and I cursed at myself for sleeping through probably the whole day.

I did not want to see him, I did not want to hear him. Nothing. But was home a better option?

"Okay,, wait, wait, wait. He did what?!" I heard her screech while laughing on the other end of the line and I could not help but smile.

After having told Adriana everything about the situation, she wanted to here the more uncomfortable details. Details I would gladly tell her. The way she phrased it, she added some lightheartedness to this whole thing and it helped me, if only for a second.

When finally having found the "kitchen" of the house, nearly every maid here offered me anything to eat for breakfast. Only that it was already 3pm and I felt insulted by every request. So, I decided to call Adriana to distract me while I searched through the fridge.

"He decided to make me follow him like a dog." I scoffed while I found fresh lemons, deciding that those would help me wake up.

When finding the bathroom this morning, that did not fail to impress me either, I tugged my straightener out of my suitcase and put on some makeup. Finally, I felt put together again once I put on some leggings and a matching sports bra beneath my sweater with it. I needed to train again, I felt like this would help me get accustomed to my new life here. I just did not know where to look, surely Mister Bane had an at home gym somewhere.

"After your super stunt?" I did not know anymore if my best friend was being serious or not, but at least she was not mad about the fact that I had hesitated too long to tell her.

"Yup, exactly. I was too surprised to react to anything, but he was sno-bby." I pulled the last word longer while trying to cut lemons on the wooden cutting board. The phone was laying beside me on the counter, Adriana was on speaker.

I filled up my water bottle with cold water coming from the fridge and added in slices of lemons after squeezing half of the fruit into the bottle.

Before I could close the water bottle though, I heard footsteps coming towards me. I grabbed my phone quick, holding it to my ear again.

"Adri I'll call you back."

"Bye bab-" I cut her off before she could finish, noticing the tone in my voice and not asking a single question. I was thankful for the fact that we now knew each other for so long, that she could read any of my signals.

The footsteps were close to the kitchen and I felt my body tense while I knew that he was near. I wished secretly for him to pass the kitchen, but once the door gave off a slight creak from the sudden push, I knew that it was not going to happen.

To say I was confused, nervous, was an understatement. I did not know what he expected from me. He would surely not get a simple greeting after the whole incident yesterday, I would not be bowing down to him like the rest of the people in this house. I knew where I stood, he should know it too.
