Amelie POV

We're all stood in line at the bar, and it's moving incredibly slowly. We've all ready been here half an hour and still haven't moved.

Why did I have to pick a mini dress on one of the coldest nights of the year? Also, why did Reine insist on one of the most exclusive bars in this city?

Reine and Kingsley couldn't even charm their way in and they're both famous. If they don't let us in soon I think I may riot.

I'm in mid conversation with Kingsley about his new project when something, rather someone, catches my eye in the distance.

That's surely not Lando.

Jesus he scrubs up nice when he's not in a hoodie and jogging bottoms.

He spies me and waves awkwardly, making his way over. "Hello birthday girl!"

I nod in his direction, "hello Mr Burgler!" And gesture for him to stand in line with us.

"You know you really need to think of a new nickname for me, your friends will get the wrong impression!" He chuckles awkwardly.

"Lando mate you are aware we already think you're weird." My brother teases, playfully punching him in the chest.

"Nice to see you too Theo." Lando grins, "it's freezing out here!"

"Tell me about it." Reine groans dramatically, wrapping her arms around her torso for warmth.

"You're the one who insisted on the place!" Kingsley growls, unimpressed by how long we've been waiting already. "You're late by the way."

"Yeah sorry, got caught up. What are we waiting outside in the cold for?" Lando asks, looking down the line of people.

"They wouldn't let us skip the queue... we're not famous enough." Theo responds, flashing Lando a mischievous look.

Lando takes another look down the slow moving line and sighs, "Come on, I'll get us in." He mumbles, heading toward the front of the queue, Kingsley, Reine, Theo and I in tow.

I glance at him slightly humoured in his attempt to get us in. "I'm not being funny but they wouldn't even let Reine skip the queue so I doubt they'll..."

The bouncer takes one look at him and lets us all inside, no questions asked.

"How did you..?" I question in confusion as we're escorted to the VIP section.

"Don't worry about it!" He chuckles, disappearing off to the bar.

Reine glances at me giving me her signature smirk, "you really don't know do you?" She giggles.

"Know what?!" I blurt out, getting annoyed that I'm being left out of the loop.

"Reine leave it, she'll work it out at some point!" Theo grins, "might take her a year or so but she'll get there!"

I'm left even more confused by my brothers comment, what are they on about?!

Lando returns a short time later with a round of drinks and a bottle of the expensive champagne.

Where does that man get his money?

We all drink and chat for a while. I'm glad Lando is here, mainly because it gives Theo someone to talk to but also because he's kinda cool, in a weird and awkward sort of way.

Kingsley, Reine and I disappear off into the dance floor, leaving my brother alone with his friend.

They aren't nearly drunk enough to want to bust some shapes out, boring if you ask me.

Around an hour later, and with enough alcohol inside my stomach to kill a small child I'm feeling like making bold choices I make my way over to my brother.

"So, are you going to tell me what that was all about earlier?" I ask, my words coming out harsher than I intended to.

"Sorry what?" Lando replies looking aghast.

"No not you, him." I scold, pointing to Theo. "My brother and my best friend are definitely keeping a secret from me and I want to know what it is!"

"It's really not important Mills..." Theo chuckles, taking a sip of his beer.

"Are you sleeping with her? Is that what it is?" I scoff, becoming more annoyed by the second. "Because I swear to god if you two are fucking I'll murder you both."

"What?! No!" Theo defends, throwing his arms up in the air. "I wouldn't sleep with Reine she's like 12."

"I'm really confused right now..." Lando mutters under his breath, clearly feeling awkward about being in the middle of this conversation.

"She's the same age as me!" I shriek.

"It's Lando." Theo chuckles.

"You're sleeping with Reine?! Seriously?" I question, slightly humoured. "Wow. Didn't think you had it in you."

"What? No." Lando defends, flustered by my accusation. "I know the owner. It's how I got us in, that's why Reine suggested this place."

"Ohhhhh... that makes sense. Sorry Theo." I mumble feeling slightly embarrassed. "Sorry Lando."

"It's fine. Now go, dance, it's your birthday." He chuckles, planting a kiss on my cheek.

I head back on the dance floor to my friends, and dance the night away, feigning enjoyment.

I've never been one for nightclubs or drinking.
Reine who was the one who suggested we go out. I'd of much rather spent the night at a nice dinner and maybe a board game or two.

God I'm boring aren't I?

I head to the bar to order myself another drink, when the familiar scent of vanilla and musk fills my nostrils.

I smirk before turning to my side, "are you too cool to dance or something?!" I tease, the alcohol getting the better of me.

Lando chuckles a little, "no, I'm just a terrible dancer!"

I take his hand and guide him to the dancefloor. "Don't worry, so am I!"

We dance for a while, my brother finally joining us a few minutes later and for the first time tonight I'm actually enjoying myself.

Some time passes and I head outside for some fresh air, the sticky humidity of the club becoming a little overwhelming for me.

I sit on a table in the smoking area and try to stop myself from falling asleep. Now I remember why I don't drink very often.

I don't know how long I was out there before I feel a nudge and a glass of water is placed into my hands.

"Drink it, you'll feel better." Lando pleads, in a concerned tone.

"Thank you." I whisper, before sipping on the crisp ice cold water.

"Not much of a drinker I take it?" He chuckles, taking a seat beside me.

"How'd you guess?" I retort, rolling my eyes at him dramatically.

"Intuition..." he smirks, gesturing me to drink more. "Come on, Reine says we're heading back to your place."
