CHAPTER SIX: CINDERELLA BOOTCAMP

     IT had been a couple of days since Johnny Lawrence had told Molly and Miguel that he would be their sensei and the three were finally in the dojo together. The man had rented a space in the strip mall where he had fought Kyler and his friends, painting the interior to look more like a karate dojo. The walls had the Cobra Kai motto and a cobra on them, the main floor in the middle of the room being taken over by a mat.

Molly, who was wearing a pair of black athletic leggings that Marjorie had bought her when she heard that the Lawrence girl was beginning karate lessons along with a matching sports bra with an oversized white t-shirt over it, was standing next to Miguel with a smile. The girl had stolen the shirt from Eli several weeks ago and he had yet to notice.

The atmosphere soon turned awkward and suffocating as Johnny, who was in his black gi with a matching headband tied around his head, stood staring at the two teens who stood across from him. Molly peered over at Miguel before looking at her dad once again.

"So, are we gonna get the karate pajamas too?" Miguel asked, breaking the silence abruptly.

"Quiet!" Johnny yelled at the boy.

"Okay," Miguel said quietly as he straightened up.

"The student only speaks when spoken to. Is that understood?" The man said as he continued looking at the pair of teens.

Molly nodded her head while Miguel answered verbally. Johnny gave the pair a raised eyebrow as if he were waiting for more of an answer.

"Always address me as 'Sensei.' Is that understood?"

"Yes, Sensei," the two teens said in unison as they nodded at the Lawrence man.

"These aren't pajamas. This is a gi," Johnny explained in regard to Miguel's previous questions. "And you'll both get one when you've earned it. Ready to begin your training?"
