CHAPTER FIFTEEN: MY FATHER'S DAUGHTER
❝ cobra kai never dies ❞

KNOCKING on the Diaz's front door, Molly took a step back to wait for an answer. She had gotten a ride home from Mrs. Moskowitz earlier in the morning so that she could take a shower and change before heading over to her friend's apartment to ask why he left the dance early.

She looked up to see Carmen opening the door, Molly smiling up at her. Her smile fell when the woman didn't reciprocate it, her fingers tapping against her thigh as she nervously looked at her.

"Hi, I was just coming to check on Miguel," she said quietly as her eyes ran over the woman's angry facial expression. "He left the dance early and I wasn't sure why."

"Is that Molly?" Miguel's strained voice came from the living room.

Molly's heart dropped at the sound of his voice. It sounded like he was in pain and she looked up at Carmen in worry.

"Is he alright? Did something happen?" Molly asked in concern.

"Mama, can you let her in please?" Miguel asked from the couch.

Carmen hesitantly let the girl in, gesturing to the couch in the living room where her son was lying. Molly walked into the room, her chest tight with anxiety as she thought of what could have happened to the boy. All the anxiety left her body when she saw the boy had an ice pack over his ribs, a band-aid on his forehead, and slight bruises littering his face. All the anxiety morphed into anger as her eyes hardened.
