I was sitting at the front of Taylor's jeep. She was sitting on my left and she was driving us to Calum's house. All of the seats inside the jeep were a dark grey, and the sticky leather made the heat of Australia feel worse than it usually did. The blackened out windows stopped the light from coming in, but they certainly didn't stop the burning scorch from the sun.
Taylor was looking out of the window. Her blonde hair was flowing in the gentle wind that pushed against her pale face. Her ocean blue eyes glistened as she stared at the flowing river we were driving over.
We had finally got to the hill that led to Calum's house. The sun was setting over the gorgeous city of Sydney. The sky was a baby blue, and it had pink rays flying though the white clouds. We drove up the hill, and taylor placed her hand on mine - it was a sign of reassurance and she was telling me that everything will be okay just by the touch of her hand.
We stopped about 30 meters away from Calum's house. I didn't want him to hear the car coming. Me and Taylor stepped out of the jeep and we walked in front of it. I looked at Taylor with a confused expression, I thought she was just dropping me off?
"I'm not leaving you Michael. I'm gonna be right here next to the car okay?" Taylor said to me as she dropped her sunglasses over her eyes. Taylor gave me a hug and I walked up the hill towards Calum's house. I was so nervous, my palms were sweating and my legs were shaking. I had never been so nervous for anything in my life before.
I reached the walkway to Calum's house. His house was massive and the bright orange orb in the sky was shinning down on it. I walked up to Calum's house and waited at the door. I levitated my arm above the wooden frame that was placed awkwardly at the centre of Calum's house. I wanted to knock but I couldn't move my arm. I hesitated for a second, pulled my hand back and knocked 3 times.
I waited. The empty silence drifted over me like an unwanted bee getting ready to sting me at any moment. I couldn't hear any sign of movement in the house. I knocked on the door again and waited for a response.
No response. Where was he? Taylor said he would be home now. I put my hand on the door handle and twisted it between my fingers. The door slid open.
Should I go in or not? If I could have told the future I would have never gone into his house. I walked through the doorway, looking around for Calum. The silence was haunting me. I couldn't hear anything up here apart from the humming of cars in the city bellow. I walked down the empty hallway. Calum had photos of the band and his family in frames on his grey wall. I walked out of the hallway into the open kitchen. There was no sign of Calum.
I heard a beeping noise to my right. I twisted my neck as fast as I could and looked at the phone that was placed on the kitchen counterpoint. I walked over to it and picked it up. Calum was getting texts from Luke. I thought at first that it was just normal texts between friends, but it wasn't.
"Hey babe, how you doing?" Asked Luke in the text.
"Pretty terrible, it would be better if you were here beside me." Answered Calum. Were they flirting or weren't they?
"What if I was on you..." Responded Luke. He put a winking face emoji after it. Was he hinting that he wanted to have sex with Calum or was he just joking. I couldn't believe that Luke would say something like that.
"That would be even better. It would be better if you were fucking me you know." Calum responded with. I dropped the phone onto the floor. I couldn't believe it - I was so worried about Calum and now he was sexting Luke - a person who was meant to be my friend.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" Asked Calum. He was standing right behind me and he had bandages up his arm. His eyes were even more red than the last time I had seen him. His hair was extremely messy and he had blood between his finger nails. His hands were shaking and he put them into a fist.
"Why are you and Luke sexting each other?" I asked him. I didn't mean to say that, great job Michael you had to make things even worse didn't you? Calum looked at me in shock.
"We haven't been sexting each other. And Michael why are you here, I thought I made it clear the last time that I can't do this." Calum said into response to me. He looked afraid - very afraid, but not of me, I think he was afraid of being caught. It was obvious for why he broke up with me, he was in love with Luke Hemmings.
"You love him don't you. I've seen the texts." I shouted at him. I gripped the table that was behind me. I felt my heart skip a beat as Calum opened his mouth.
"You looked at my texts? You looked at my fucking texts?" Calum shouted at me aggressively. His fists were tightening and his lips were trembling.
"Yes I looked at them." I showed him the phone in my hand and pointed at the texts between him and Luke. "I know you two have been flirting with each other. You two can just fuck already. I don't want anything to do with you Calum Hood. Forget about me. You can go and fuck Luke now." I said to him as I dropped his phone on the floor. I stormed out of his house and ran down the hill towards Taylor.
~Taylor's POV~
I could see Michael running down the hill towards me. He had tears in his eyes and he ran into my arms. I grabbed him as hard as I could between my arms. He was sobbing. Water was running down his face and his eyes were a bloodshot red.
"What happened Michael?" I asked him as I rubbed my hands up and down his back to help support him.
"He's been sexting Luke - he's in love with him." Michael chocked out as tears dropped from his eyes into my shoulder. I didn't know whether I believed it or not. I didn't know Calum that well but I didn't think he was the kind of person to do that.
"Oh sweetie I'm so sorry. Are you sure he was Michael?" I asked him. He pushed me off of him and I fell back onto the floor. He was mad with me as well. He looked scared and angry at the same time.
"Yes of course I'm fucking sure!" He shouted at me. "I wouldn't make anything up like that." He walked over to the car and pushed open the door. I was still lying on the floor - I had a cut on my arm I found it difficult to get myself back up again.
"Where are you going?" I screamed at him as he slammed the door behind him. He twisted the key and the car engine roared.
"If Calum thinks he can use our band mates as his little play boys, then I'm gonna do it as well." He shouted to me as he sped off in the car. I grabbed the cut on my arm and tried to make it better by stroking my arm over it. I needed to stop Michael from doing whatever he was going to do because I knew he'd regret it.
Suddenly I heard a car come speeding down the drive - it was Calum. The car stopped next to me and Calum rushed out of the drivers side and stopped in front of me.
"Taylor Swift?" He asked me. Well duh yeah I'm Taylor Swift, this boy was already annoying me. He reached his hand out to help me up. I hesitated before I grabbed his hand and he helped me up from the hard gravel that I had cut my arm on.
"Yes that's me. I've just had to deal with an emotionally distressed Michael. You've put that boy through a lot." I said to him. I wanted to slap him - he had put Michael through so much.
"I didn't do anything though, he just mis-read those texts." Calum said as he got the phone out of his pocket. The screen was cracked and I could only just see the texts.
Calum was right, Michael should have just read the next few texts - it was so obvious that they were joking. What had I done? I should have gone with Michael into Calum's house and made sure that everything went to plan.
"Oh fuck." I said to Calum. He looked at me with a questioning expression, it was like he was asking me something but I didn't know what.
"Where the fuck did Michael go?" He asked me. I didn't know where Michael had gone, he had took my car to somewhere.
"I wish I knew Calum. Maybe we should go and look for him?" I asked him. Calum nodded my head and I got into his car. It was a black Lamborghini and the seats were rested back - I had never been in such a nice, and well kept, car.
"Nice car." I told him. Calum has a cheeky grin on his face, and he pushed his foot down onto the accelerator and we drove down the hill to look for Michael.
